Was visiting family and had heard about Habit being competition for In-N-Out so was excited to try it since there isn't any close to where I live. We decided to try it while near it and was very disappointed. First off when we went it there wasn't a lot of people in and our order was taken fairly quickly...but it took way too long to get our food. Other customers were having to tell each other to go check if their food was ready just sitting there. I noticed that when they are prepping orders they will put whatever is ready on the counter by the kitchen. They had trays of food-fries, onion rings and tempura green beans just sitting there cooling off and getting stale while they are getting the rest of the food ready. For only a few orders ahead of ours it took almost 15 mins for me to finally check and notice our food was sitting on that same counter with the employees having no idea that it was ready and to call out our number. When I finally got the food, I ordered the Double Char Burger, lettuce wrapped, my wife got the single the same way and my mom ordered the Ahi Tuna Filet. We also got an order of fries and the tempura green beans. I tried some fries and they weren't fresh and weren't good. When I went to try my burger I noticed there was mold on my lettuce. As I inspected it and was pulling it off my burger I also noticed a bug on it. So I set those pieces off to the side and inspected more of my burger, and found more bugs. On top of that there was like a 1/4 inch layer of mayo which was way too much. The Ahi Tuna Filet was also not good at all. It seemed old and overcooked. On top of all of the food, the dining area was a mess also. Nothing had been stocked, the Tea was empty, the ketchup was empty, the tables were all dirty and the garbage was full. I was wondering if it was just really close to closing as to why stuff hadn't been restocked, but I looked it up and they were open for over 3 more hours. The employees in this place all looked miserable and that could explain the issues, but something needs to be done about it. I also left my phone number with the shift manager to have the store manager call me, which never happened. All in all very disappointing place. I would stick with...
Read moreIn all fairness, the food I tried was exceptional for fast food. My wife and I had the double char, fries, onion rings, and coke. We ordered two double char burger meals and a side of onion rings. When the order was complete, we sat down to eat. Then, right away, we noticed the burgers were single patty burgers. We ordered doubles.
I took the tray to the counter to complain. This is where it went south. I told the lady what happened, showed her the receipt, which clearly showed we paid $12.79 each for the double char burger meals, and she promptly tried to convince me that we ordered a single or that that’s the way they came, not sure which as the whole exchange was very bizarre. But, to compensate us, she offered to give us two meat patties, and we had to put the meat on our sandwich ourselves. This, of course, was shocking to us. Rather than apologize and replace the burgers as any other food establishment would, she wanted to argue that it was our fault and that we should accept her offering of two meat patties on a plate to add to our burger. The fact that that was even offered like that was insulting.
So, I insisted they make new burgers. She tossed the two they'd made in the trash and told me she'd bring them out when they were done. Almost 15 minutes later, and no burgers. I went to the counter to see what the hold-up was. The lady who assisted me talked to the burger flipper person, and he told her he had forgotten. They still needed to be started. The burger guy grabbed four cooked meat patties and quickly made two burgers while I stood there, and they were handed to me. It was not that busy today.
Today, many people in the retail food industry don't realize that customer service is more about the experience you receive when you dine out than anything else. We were told about this place by a friend who insisted it was a great place. We drove over 40 miles round trip specifically to go there. First time out and the experience we were handed ruined...
Read moreI'm here today specifically to try out this new Patty Melt offered by my fave fast food burger place, The Habit Burger Grill! All the other burgers here are fantastic and better than In N Out, so let's see what they can do with the Patty Melt, cause folks, Patty Melts are one of most fave sandwiches!
Ordering was easy, just the Patty Melt with extra grilled onions. It comes with grilled onions anyways, but more of a good thing! What surprised me is the cost of this patty melt, $7.46 inc tax or about $6.85 without tax ... that's just for the sandwich itself, nothing else, no fries or drink. I thought that was kinda high for what you were getting, well unless they really surprise me with a fantastic patty melt!
Unwrapping it at my table, it was a little disappointed in what I saw, (posted pic). It was sort of a squished down patty melt, with 2 thin patties with cheese and not a whole lot of grilled onions. OK, let's eat! Hmmm ... well, not the most fantastic thing, but decent and editable. But given the choice of other stuff on the menu, I'll definitely pass on the new "Patty Melt". Get the double charburger with cheese, it's way fabulous, more than this thing. (see pic). For the money, with fries, this patty melt would set me back about $10 bucks ... I can get a way better patty melt at a sit down sports bar pub place for about the same price! see pic.
So, I'll keep 5 starts for the Habit, cause the other food here is really good and the best fast food burger you can get around here, but yeah, can that...
