Apparently the customer is not always right.
It’s my hope that the local owners read this review, as it affects your core business.
We walked into the Jimmy John’s in spearfish and I asked for a ham and cheese sandwich with certain items. A practice I have used across the country. Some chuckle head behind the counter interrupts me and says “we don’t do build your own” in a very rude voice. The guy taking my owner (not the rude kid) explains to me that I can order a plain sandwich and add to it.
Having NEVER experienced this at any other location, I abided and said I’ll take the plain ham and cheese with mayo. Chuckle head interrupted again saying that would be ONLY cheese and bread and that they could give me packets of mayo and mustard. I asked “so you won’t put mayo or mustard (which you have) on the sandwich, instead you’ll give me packets”…yes was the response.
I politely told them they need to review their business practices and left. I love the sandwich, but you need to be consistent, this is an order I’ve placed countless times….first time I’ve been given the “we don’t do what YOU want” speech. Guess what I don’t do…?
Jimmy johns anymore….
So just to recap, if you want a sandwich with or without something you’d better go to the yellow and green sub place, because this location ONLY gives you what’s on the board.
This is a decision that will affect my business with a national chain going forward, meaning one location has cost you and other franchises my business nation wide.
The customer is ALWAYS right….not the...
Read moreMy fiancée ordered from them today on Doordash ( I know they have their own website and so on but she was buying.) She had a $40 order and set it up for delivery for her lunch time around 1:00 pm. we got a text saying it would be at our apartment in ten minutes. Her break almost being over,( she has a half hour for lunch so we waited that long before calling) and no sandwiches later she calls them. Some one named Brad was talking to her loudly,( loud enough that I could hear him and I was across the room). Telling her they dropped the sandwiches off. She told him they did not knock or send a picture in a text as they normally do. He proceeds to say well its not their fault they delivered it. My fiancée continues being nice and calm telling him that she would like a refund. He came back said well its not their fault they delivered them and that we should not have used doordash. Not sure if he refunded it or not he said he would but who knows. Since this is a guy who believes that he did a good job delivering food possibly to the wrong address. Oh and I went to every building in my apartment complex and checked to see if it was delivered to the wrong address and there were no sandwiches delivered in any of the seven buildings. They lost my business and hers hope yours as well. would rate it a...
Read moreThe sandwiches were fine, but the service was terrible. You don't get to bill yourself as a fresh sandwich shop when you don't have mustard as a condiment. Also, the employees need to be trained on the proper way to speak to customers. When I asked "may I please have mustard on the turkey sandwich" the employee simply said "Nope"! Being not certain I heard correctly, I asked him to repeat himself a d he said "Nope, we don't have mustard, but you can have two mustard packets". 8 - 9 dollars for a sandwich and I have to use mustard Packets??? "Nope" was not an appropriate answer to a customer request. As we received our sandwiches and got ready to go, I said "Thank you very much" and he responded with "Yep". How is that appropriate?? The correct response should have been "You're welcome sir, thank you for coming in today". Yup is an inappropriate response to "Thank You". Since it seems our business and money are not appreciated, I'll think long and hard before coming back here, and since you can only get mustard (and I believe mayo also) in foil to-go packets I'm not sure if I...
