I’ve gone to this McDonald’s a multitude of times over the past 5 years, they screw up orders pretty often and staff can be rude and impatient. Going through drive thru is a hit or miss if you really don’t want your food being messed up I recommend picking up your food inside and making sure everything is correct before leaving. Also sometimes when going through the drive thru you’ll go up to the thing to put in your order and while you’re ordering the person will interrupt you and ask is that everything every time after u add something, there’s been a few times where they interrupted me and just stopped taking my order and when I told them I wasn’t done yet they’d ignore me and tell me my order total and tell me to go to the window. The past 3 times I’ve gone here I’ve asked for no onions and there was onions on my burger UNDER THE CHEESE so you couldn’t have just scraped the onions off, I’m also absolutely disgusted by onions too so it was just a waste of money and I had to throw the burger away and go hungry. Since this location is in a rural area many people like me will travel 10 to 15 minutes or longer to eat McDonald’s if they’re craving some or while they’re traveling in town to run errands and by the time you realize your order is messed up you’re not near the McDonald’s anymore and there’s no use in driving back to get your order fixed. There was another time they had messed up an order of mine where I ordered a mcchicken and instead it was a filet o fish inside of a mcchicken wrapper. This place is hot garbage and I wish...

Rating customer service for employees on minimum wage, who otherwise are doing all of us. A great service is difficult to say the least. However, my issue is with common sense, which I received zero as well as food that I paid for. After entering the restaurant on Ryan Road I waited for my mobile order which never came and I went inside to a predictable scene of overworked South Dakota’s who are underpaid and did not want to deal with any problem let alone some father who is trying to give his child the worst breakfast possible but hey, at least I’m trying. Regardless, they couldn’t find my order and automatically they asked if it was my fault. They asked if I had the right location and I assured them this is Ryan Road in Spearfish. After showing my Venmo receipt and order number the cashier kept saying it’s not my system, but it’ll probably just show up as pending now acting as a banking merchant for Venmo and understanding transactional histories on third-party money transfer platforms. This all took about 20 minutes. I used the mobile order so I could pick it up quickly and take my child to school. We ended up being late. What did we learn here? Honestly, don’t go to McDonald’s for breakfast. South Dakota are on the majority are overworked underpaid, and don’t want to deal with customer service let alone the millions of seasonal tourist who are about to bombard them. I will skip this from...
Read moreThe kids at the front counters are very inexperienced and poorly trained. They do have the self-order kiosks, though! The quarter pounder I ordered was very chewy, mealy (like overcooked shrimp in texture), and waaayyy too greasy. It also had so much ketchup and mustard on it, and it slid apart, dropping a week's worth (exaggeration, but it was a lot) of condiments onto my lap. The Southwest Chicken Salad is also a remnant of how good it used to be (at least at this location in Spearfish, SD.) The crispy chicken on it was not crispy, but soggy from the sauce on it, the lettuce was day-old tasting, too, as if it were about to turn bad, and they did not package it correctly (i.e. the lid was too big for the bowl portion, so it did not snap closed, but spilled into the bag they put it in. Which brings up my final point. They packed it to go, even though I said " For here, please," when they asked the question of where I would care to eat it. This has happened EVERYTIME I go there. I guess the manager doesn't care about excess paper products being wasted. For just the salad, I had 8 napkins in the bag. I did not ask for extra, either. At least the bag was paper, rather than plastic. The crew was friendly, despite their lack of training. They really were trying. As a starter job for them, I would give the cashier's a 3.5 out of 5. Food...
