Spearfish Brewing Company — Restaurant in Spearfish

The beer was good but the service wasn't. We ordered food and then were forgotten, finally our waiter informed us that he didn't place our order. We were told they would rush our order and it would take 15 minutes, over 20 minutes later, I went to ask about it, he said it should be a couple more minutes. Keep in mind, we all, (4 of us), ordered the same panini sandwich, it should have taken 5 minutes, 10 at most. We finally got our food, handed to us through a window of the restaurant where we had to pass them to each other, instead of our waiter coming out to our table and probably serving us. The meal was a disappointment, barely any meat or cheese, we felt like we waited almost an hour and a half for two pieces of toast and a bag of chips. They didn't change us for the beer but it was still a big disappointment. I never write reviews because I like to see small businesses succeed, but frankly they didn't seem like they were worried about...

Alright. Let's talk atmosphere. 5/5 nice area, some local photos and art, some sound dampening on the walls is always a great choice, big open front windows on a gorgeous 80 degree day? a dinosaur with balloons??? I mean come on, that's enough to warrant the 5 stars right there, but wait! There's more. I could have told you their beer was great before, but what I didn't realize is how they'll revisit tried and true recipes and mix it up and create new familiar flavors. Tangerine bobcat! I'm looking at you. And since the kitchen opened up? It's easily become a must visit location in spearfish. The Balboa flatbread and cheese curds became the highlight of my wife and I's day. Where do I start? Beer was great. The server we had to start was great but then I guess she went on break or off duty??? Never returned. Food and service after that...frustrating. Not a lot of food to choose from to start. (They should utilize the cooks next door. Their food and service at RedWater was great! )Burgers at the brewery were way over cooked. Like hockey pucks. No flavor and crispy outside. service needs some help...Drinks, like water come first, silverware would also be helpful, we had to ask 4 times for a lemonade. No condiments for the burgers.
