I went there to watch the game. I left my cellphone charger at home. I asked the waitress if she had a cellphone charger. Another waitress, Maria, chucked a cellphone charger at me. Apparently, she said think fast but I didn't hear it. I start to try to plug it in and she says "Is that an I phone."to which I respond no. She says "That is an iPhone charger so obviously it won't work." She basically tried to make like I was dumb because she threw the wrong cellphone charger at me. So she gets a basket of cellphone chargers and none of them work. Then she whispers to me "why don't you go charge your phone at home." I tell her I am here to watch the game. I didn't have cable at home at the time. I was getting ready to go home when she said "I can use a cellphone charger from the kitchen but you have to be nice." I am not sure when I wasn't nice in that interaction but whatever. They used to have customers spin the wheel for points and small prizes. I asked "if they do spin the wheel anymore." I was told angrily by Tasha "We were not the ones that decided to not do that anymore." Okay I get that but do you have to jump down my throat just for asking about it? So after watching the game I get my check. My Vodka drinks were $4. A few weeks before, I had bud light drafts which were $4.25. I asked the waitress if draft beers were $4.25? She responded "I don't set the prices. Obviously you know what the price is so why did you ask?" Well I didn't know what the prices were and that is why I asked. This has been a typical experience there with a few of the waitresses. Maybe that is why the place was slow on a Monday night.
Another night I was there. I was at the Stadium talking to my buddy. All of a sudden Maria randomly yells "Jeff stop listening into our conversation mind your business." Everyone was really confused and wondering what she was talking about. Awhile later she randomly says to me "I didn't miss you when you were gone." I told her " I just came to talk to my buddy." Then she says "let's just make fun of him" no one else participates...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite places to eat in Spearfish. Good atmosphere, screen views, and service. We must have hit a rough spot this weekend. Service was okay, even though it wasn't busy. 2 out of the 4 entrees we considered "good/okay." However, the major foul was this. You cannot advertise a "Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich" on the menu and show up with a (maybe microwaved) roast beef sandwich with cheese and au jus. My wife ordered the au jus sandwich at the same time and it was exactly the same sandwich with mushrooms and onions added. The server explanation was "that's how it comes"...not, would you like something else...I'm sorry it's not like the rest of the worlds Philly Cheese Steak. LoL. I mean, your beef tips are famously good. Just seems odd not to use them on a PCS. I guess I'll stick with the burgers if there's a next time. ...

In Western South Dakota lore, Marlina Butts held a Road House in St.Onge and served a legendary dish, Marinated Beef Tips. In my college days, decades ago, I would take dates to this excluded location for a special evening.
It's so far off the road that I think one or two wondered if they would every see home again.
Now, the same meal is offered at The Stadium.
It's so good there are now numerous establishments offering something similar. In my opinion, this is as close as it gets to the original.
Marinated Beef Tips, secret marinate, one side, choose a form of fried potatoe, and a meaningless iceberg lettuce salad.
I eat here everyone's I'm in Spearfish an once or twice a year.
Other than that, The Stadium is a rather ordinary bar that serves some food.
It's all...
