I've had quite a few people recommend I give Antuñez a try before finally making it out there and I am sad I didn't try it sooner.
I'm originally from an area that has a decent-sized Hispanic population, and after moving to Rapid City, I found there weren't a lot of options for good Hispanic food. I finally tried Antuñez and not only is it the best Hispanic restaurant I've found in South Dakota, it is one of the best places to eat, period. From appetizer to dessert, the entire meal was incredible.
We started off the esquite and also the guacamole dip with chips and optional chicharrón and the whole table loved both. I had the Spinach and Mushroom Enchilada with chicken and it had the best green sauce I've had, better than anything I found in my hometown of Seattle or the several times I've been to Mexico.
Dinner was finished off with crème brûlée, 3 of us chose the Tres Leches, the other picked the the dark chocolate and ancho chili and they were amazing. Top it off with a great atmosphere and friendly staff and you have one of the best places to eat in...
Read moreAnother great meal staff and service last night. Rachel took amazing care of us. The Barramundi was outstanding as was the New York strip. Another bottle of Pirate. The shrimp ceviche was fantastic too! This is a must stop if you are anywhere near Spearfish!!!
Past experience below
What a great meal from the staff to the food everything was fantastic.
Never even knew this restaurant was here. Tucked back off Main Street I had driven by it for years.
By the way Taylor took great care of our group Saturday - The entire staff did as well.
Small place with a small kitchen. This is one of my favorite type of Resturant’s. Leave your cell phones at home. Order a bottle of wine 🍷 and some amazing appetizers. Enjoy each other’s conversation while you wait for your main course.
No liquor license but they have a great wine list.
A must stop in Spearfish - Best restaurant...
Read moreMy wife and I live in Southern California. We were craving not just Mexican food, you can get that almost anywhere, but excellent Mexican food. We read various reviews, and took a chance. We were blown away by the and genius that goes into every entrée. We started off with a dinner salad, expecting the usual chopped lettuce and a few slices of tomato. Instead, what we got was a very crisp salad bowl with a light, yet tangy, unique dressing. My wife who is no slouch at all when it comes to great cooking, was realty impressed. I had chicken enchiladas and my wife had a steak. Everything about both meals was savory, flavorful , and having high quality ingredients. On top of all of this, they have an excellent wine list and the folks are delightfully friendly. If you’re looking for a great dinner experience, not just food, this...
