I wish I could have included more stars but the bartender Jake just completely ruined my experience there. He absolutely would not manage his time and make drinks in the order they were asked for. And then to top off the evening my boyfriend had been going there for quite some time and was sticking up for this guy all night long telling people hey cut him a break he's still kinda new because every other customer that we spoke with tonight was complaining about waiting a half hour for a beer. It pains me to give The Public House less than a 5-star rating. My husband and I have visited here a few times throughout the years when we’re in the area. We love the atmosphere and the crafted cocktails are wonderful. We wanted to share this experience with a few of our family members while vacationing in Deadwood. I was so excited for them to see it. We were there 3/14/25 in anticipation of hearing some authentic Irish music. The bartender that day was stunningly RUDE to us. This place was a nice change in spearfish. I went here and was delighted mire than anything. The interior was great. The back exterior has been completely transformed. The selections they have are more than what you could ask for. My only issue is that with enough bodies in there, it gets HOT. I was only wearing a thin long sleeve and a light jacket.
