I was discriminated against because I wouldn’t disclose private medical information. My family went here for my birthday and we were told that unless someone has a seizure disorder or something, our service dog is not allowed. (We have taken him here with us many times without issue, but this server was on a power trip or something).
I tried to calmly explain the ADA laws and gave the correct responses to the two legal questions, but the waitress didn’t understand and just sneered and was dismissive, condescending, and rude the entire encounter.
We decided to leave rather than argue, but I met with the manager so this wouldn’t happen to someone in the future. He did not seem to care at all that she violated our rights and the law and let her continue arguing, being snide and rolling her eyes at me. They both quoted the rules for the establishment and then told me to read a website link to ADA which confirmed everything I had been saying to them, that they had no right to do what they did.
This is a violation of federal law and punishable by fines of $75,000 for a first offense, but the way they act, I’m sure they will get many many more without the proper employee education. I will be reporting them to the ADA and I hope an official investigation and appropriate training are the result.
This ruined my birthday and now I’ll never go to my favorite diner again, which is very...
Read moreWe actually went here twice in one afternoon. We went in for iced tea and pie while we decided what to do about our van that needed major repairs. I found a guy who could look at it but we had to get it there ASAP as he was closing in 30 minutes. She packed up our pie to go but not our drinks that we hadn't even had a chance to start to drink yet. When we went back for dinner - it was the only place within walking distance of the hotel - we had the same server. I explained that I had bariatric surgery and asked if I could order from the kid's menu. She said that wasn't an option - which is ok, it's not in her control. What was frustrating though was the pricing between the kid's menu and the adult menu. Both had the 1/3 pound burger and fries. Same food. She even said it. But the adult menu had the usual veg - onions, lettuce, and tomato - and was $4 more. That feels very scummy to me. She was a bit rude throughout our interactions, though, and ultimately we won't...
Read moreMy husband and I used to go there all the time and the service was okay. Tonight we took our daughter and the service was horrible. The waitress didn't even ask us if we needed anything else, she didn't offer ketchup or anything with my daughter's fries that were about 10 minutes later than the rest of the food. She never came around to do any refills it was just all around horrible service. The food was okay but when you get lighter meals you would assume that it would be half of a regular size meal especially when the price is still $10. My daughter got the spaghetti and meatballs off the lighter menu and it was literally a tiny spoonful of spaghetti drenched in some sauce with some nasty meatballs. Don't bother with that menu you'll get less than kids sized portions. All in all this was a very...
