This location seems to have trouble keeping businesses open, which is weird because it has a great location for both foot traffic and people driving by. Considering a less than mediocre Subway near them manages to stay open, I can only assume it is due to a series of poor owners. Anyway, on to the current attempt.
When I first saw the name and the decor, I was kind of excited as it seemed like they were going for an Irish theme and I thought maybe there was going to be an Irish style menu. Nope, basically a very similar menu to the place that couldn't hang on before. One thing that is especially weird is they have copied a salad from a popular bread and soup chain I won't name to avoid seeming promotional. That in itself wouldn't be a problem except they have made the very weird decision to put Italian dressing on something that clearly needs some kind of sweeter type of dressing. A few of the other items are not great either. Coffee is both underwhelming and more expensive than most other places in the Valley.
Service is friendly but seems like they are always training someone whenever I go in, which tells me they are having trouble keeping employees. Considering the other things about this place, I am guessing maybe they don't know how to treat employees in a way they want to stay. The continued training cycle issue makes getting your order very slow.
Back to the decor, at first I thought it was kinda cool, but now I am annoyed. I guess someone just thought a shamrock would look cool and put it all over, so it is basically just a gimmick. Feels kind of like an insult to my Irish heritage. Not a great look as there is a significant Irish descended population in the Spokane area.
I wish someone would come into this location and put more emphasis on good food and properly trained staff that want to stay, and stop with gimmicks to try and trick people to come in.
I have been on the other side of the counter and I know running restaurants is not easy. I also know that success starts with good food and service, not a freshman business major level gimmick.
Just an update to note the reply from the business was essentially to give me the finger, and I love how they completely ingored the glaring fact their food really isn't that good. But yeah, you keep doing your "style" that you like so much. I am sure that mentality will be very...
