On Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, my family of four visited the Mongolian BBQ on Sprague for the first time. I love the Mongolian grill concept and have ate at several different restaurants specializing in this style throughout my lifetime. I really enjoyed our experience at Mongolian BBQ. The restaurant is clean and the employees extremely friendly and kind. An example of this was when my 1-year-old was making a mess by throwing rice all over the floor. My wife was frantically picking it up when our server came over and told us not to worry.

But let’s get to the dining experience itself. If you go to HuHot, they offer an all-you-can-eat option and that is pretty much it. At Mongolian BBQ you can choose from different sizes on one-trip bowls that allow you to take leftovers home OR you can choose the all-you-can-eat option that does not allow you to take leftovers home. I appreciated the many different options. My wife and I each got the “Mighty Kahn” bowl (the medium-sized option) that turned out to be plenty. My 4-year-old and 1-year-old split the “Little Kahn” bowl (the small-sized option) but it was sold to us at a $5.99 children’s price.

The buffet line, which was very organized and clean, had many great meats, veggies, and more. I liked how ham was an option. A little thing I thought was pretty cool was that the ladles for the sauces were large and easily accessible. Many other restaurants have small ladles that require you to do several pours. We got through the line in no time and it didn’t seem like it took the grill chefs forever to cook our food. I always top my bowl with peanuts (when available) and Mongolian BBQ offers whole peanuts which made me really happy.

The food tasted great. The staff applied a 10% off expired coupon I obtained from the back of a supermarket receipt. Overall the dining experience was terrific and we...

We went here the other night for the first time. I was first off put by the restaurant being practically empty at the height of dinner on a Sunday, the grill unmanned, yet greasy and dirty. I asked my family if we could not eat there, but they wanted to try it. It seemed the rest of the restaurant was clean and pretty well maintained so we went forward. Their pricing structure is odd, but continued. The buffet to prep your dish was adequate and seemed well maintained and cared for, although some less popular items seemed to be pretty wilted and on their last legs, most likely put out for a couple days, but hey, it's about to get fried up at a high temp, right?! This is when it all went wrong. They dumped the bowl of food on the grill that had just barely been turned on, didn't cook it very long and then...PUT IT BACK IN THE SAME BOWL!!! No no no! Cross contamination is a big NO for me. I was in the sort of mood if I said anything I would've lost it, so I kept my mouth shut. I ate a few bites out of complete hunger, but it was the WORST Asian food I've ever eaten. My husband wasn't thrilled about it, but ate anyway. My kids ate the rice and a couple bites and joined my protest. We packed up the rest to go (for my husband hoped we were just being picky) but it went in the trash the next day. My husband, a man with an iron stomach who will eat most anything, was completely sick to his stomach for the next 36 hours or so. I would not recommend this place to anyone but the health district to go...

From the time I walked into the building, I was getting unwelcoming stares. This was my first time being at this location so I was not aware of the prices or how the setup went. No one told me about the different prices so they made me choose the most expensive bowl, then when it came down to the sauces, I didn't even get the option to choose what sauces I want. They chose for me without asking for my input. So at the register when my total came up to $30 I decided to say no to it and ask for a refund due to the previous issues I listed and because I was getting unneeded attitude from the cashier and the cook. So when I asked for my refund, I am now being questioned by another worker who repeatedly keeps asking me why do I want to refund. This was the most unprofessional Mongolian barbecue location I've ever been to. And for minorities to make another minority feel less than speaks volumes. I will never go back to this location, they would never see my money, and anybody that I come across I will let them know exactly what issues I came across coming to this...

I love this place. My family loves this place. BUT!, Let it be known, it is this particular place, location that I am talking about. The one along Sullivan and Sprague. The family has always been nice to me. The staff is friendly. There is a language barrier, but it is doable . You pick your own sauces and scoop them out yourself so it's all on you for flavor. And for that reason it will always taste a little different. Variety is the spice of life, right? (Where are those other women!?)(😘 🤭 😲 🤫 🤔 😄 😇 I think that about covers it) I highly recommend this place, and if you go, take me with you!

This was such a fun time! My family surprised me on my birthday with a dinner out to Mongolian BBQ! The staff was incredible! One of the owners sons was there in the corner while we were celebrating and he came up and gave me a birthday hug. We invited him, with permission, to join our little party. He sang with us, at cake and ice cream with us and even sang me his “ABC’s”! It was a great time! I’ve always loved the at home feeling of this place and the delicious food!! 10/10 can’t wait to be back with family and friends!!!
