I hate to write this review because we already have so few vegan establishments in this town but I’ve been meaning to say something for a while now. I’m really not trying to be mean. We love the owner so much and all that she does and we want this place to succeed and be here for a long time. We just want the food to improve again! We have been going to Allie’s since the first day they opened in their old building. It used to be the most delicious pizza in town imo. In the last 2 years the quality has gone down hill. The pizza either completely lacks flavor or is way too salty and is haphazardly thrown together. The chicken strips are either under or overcooked. When the chicken strips are overcooked they are hard to bite into and chew. They become really tough and not a pleasure to eat. My last pizza which was the margarita pizza had a full slice that was just sauce with a piece of basil and the rest of the cheese was in four giant blobs on the rest of it which made it very unappetizing. Before that, the chicken on my pizza was dry and crunchy and just flavorless. My husbands sausage pizza was so salty he couldn’t finish it. We usually have a large order around $120 and I always tip 20%. For that kind of money I would hope our food is exceptional but it’s just not. After the last time I just don’t know if I’ll be back unless they hire new chefs. I miss the old Allies quality. It’s like they just lost the love for the food. It’s really sad.
This response from the owner feels insulting. I know I’m just one customer but seriously, not even an apology? I’m very disappointed about all of this. We truly used to love this place and go often....
Read moreThis is not a pizza place. Do not come here expecting to eat good pizza.
We'll get back to that in a sec but it's the most important thing by far.
First time here and it was a huge bummer. This is also my first negative review of a restaurant ever.
The pizza has no undercarriage and is just a floppy mess. Even a Neapolitan doesn't flop like this pizza did!
This was right after it was boxed
My only guess is that they don't have a pizza oven?
The bread has no crunch and no personality, just bland.
The sauce is okay, but it didn't have that flavorful kick you'd want.
The cheese was the only thing with flavor, and the flavor was still just timid at best.
The pepperoni was awful, peel one off and you'll see the lack quality. Looks and taste like a slice of meat flavored soy, absolutely no crisp to it either. Just rubbery pepperoni on a soggy base.
Also ordered fries to go, and they forgot the sauce and couldn't seem to give a single care when I called about it.
Fries, like everything else, we're just soggy with no crisp to them at all.
Would have been nice to know the drinks are just canned drinks you can buy at the store and nothing made in house.
People must be coming simply because it's the only vegan option.
Been looking forward to trying the place for months, huge disappointment.
3 stars is as generous as I can be. Bad experience all around.
After seeing pictures of other fries, I've removed another star. It looks like they can make crispy fries but instead gave a customer the soggiest greasiest...
Read moreUpdate: Dine in experience is better and the food is so yummy! The Mac and cheese definitely has changed over the years and the previous flavorings were preferred. I had the chicken and fries, my friend has the Mac and cheese, we shared the dad bod fries, and cheese cake. The fries were drowning in vegan cheese, made them soggy. Overall great!
Original: We came here as a suggestion from a friend, the food was amazing considering my husband and I aren't vegan. I had the "chicken" and waffles with the peanut butter chocolate donut and my husband had the breakfast burrito and the cinnamon roll. We were both full after finishing the main dish and didn't have room for the sweets. I don't like tofu due to the texture but I did like the breakfast burrito! There was a line when we arrived but it moved pretty quickly; took about 15ish minutes to get through the line and get our food. 4stars are for the fact that everything seemd kind of rushed (I assumed to keep the line moving), and they didn't have utensils easy to find or napkins for that matter... Our friend that goes to Allie's often came out with plates, napkins and forks and informed us we had to ask for them. Just a heads up so you don't go looking around inside the shop for these items as we did before our friend arrived. We didn't want to have to stand back in line to just ask for forks...
