Read moreThis is a great coffee shop with really good service! My barista was a young taller gentleman with a shorter beard who was very friendly and gave me a free drink after I told him it was our first time there and we are from Western WA heading back home. While he was making my drink I heard him ask another patron who walked in the door if they had been there before. This guy should get a raise based on this alone. He definitely has a strong future in sales and customer service. My only advice is that the coffee could improve. My wife and I are admittedly "coffee snobs". The shots were weak and flavor sweeter than I would prefer. If you like coffee and are not "enlightened" you'll LOVE this place! If you're someone with a background in high end coffee that is used doing research and pulling your own shots at home you'll be slightly disappointed based on the 5 star review. My hope is I can help this barista out so he and the rest can improve there and soar to new heights. Take time pulling your shots, get the grind right, use a good bean and do some more research on how to make PERFECT coffee, not good or great coffee. I got a quad mocha with half the flavor and it was a little weak. I...
Read moreThe crepes are tasty, but you'd expect that. What sets Cafe Boku apart are some unique flavour options, the friendliest staff ever, and a couple of spectacular drinks. I had my first ube drink there, which was great...but then got talked into trying pandan. Hot pandan with oat milk is nothing short of splendiferous. Our family of four, including a very hard to please Aspie, never agree 100% on any food or drink option, but all are unanimous about hot pandan. Do be aware you might have to stand in line a bit. This is their soft open and they are already very well liked. Still, despite being busy, the staff is always friendly. They also speed past the tip option on the credit card reader. I've only beaten them once, and I try really hard! I don't mind tipping when appropriate, like sit down restaurants, but am disgusted at the now prevalent "tip me" mentality...you don't deserve tips for handing a cookie across the counter or selling me a flag (yes, I've experienced both). Boku proves good service is an expectation, not something which is dependent on a tip...but that doesn't mean I won't keep trying to beat their register. They deserve it, and...
