We tried Gangnam Style during their soft open, and it was fantastic! Every single thing was delicious. I have never seen the meat fall off the bone as effortlessly as the ribs they brought out. I also very much appreciate their later than standard hours because it works with my later than standard work schedule. We immediately started planning our next visit, and I fear we may become regulars.
Notably, half our party was from Korea and they said it was the most authentic place they have tried in Spokane by far, and some of the dishes made them nostalgic. However, regardless of if you care about authenticity or not, everything was phenomenal, and it is definitely worth a try!

This is a Gangnam Style appreciation post! I posted an initial review in June after their soft open, and we loved it. However, my boyfriend’s fridge gave out in July and mine gave out two days later, so we suddenly had a two week period with no fridge and a delicious new Korean restaurant in town… Anyway I believe we have been there 6 times now. Every single thing has been delicious! I am not remotely exaggerating when I say I believe we have tried everything on the menu at this point, and you cannot go wrong. Our fridges are fixed now, but I think we will still be going more than we should. 😊
I updated the pictures to include most of our visits. I forgot to take a picture of one time, and had almost forgotten a few so you will notice we had started digging in!
My recommendations:
The Jeon (appetizer, Korean style pancake) and dumplings are delicious and will be a hit whether you are familiar with Korean cuisine or not. They did a special sweet potato appetizer which i am hoping they bring back, but it was also really good.
For non alcoholic beverages, I’ve worked my way through all of them and my favorite is the Dalgona latte (dalgona is the caramelized sugar candy from squid games). They have a strawberry milk that reminds me of a melted strawberry milkshake with bits of strawberry in it which is very good as well. If you like citrus, the yuzu drink is very good, similar to lemonade. The sweet corn drink is the most odd looking one from an American eye, but I promise it is delicious and you will probably love it.
My favorite entree is the spicy pork with ssam (lettuce to make wraps with). They also have phenomenal chicken wings, and the amount of chicken in a serving is enough for 2 people easily. The pork belly is also fantastic.
I have always felt that we got our moneys worth, and we always left happy and full. The only way you can go wrong is by not going! Give them a try… You may just...
Read moreMy partner and I stumbled across Gangnam Style’s soft opening while visiting from Pullman on 6/19/25, and we’re so glad we did. We had a noon reservation for their Hansangcharim tasting menu, which featured around 18 dishes. It started out fairly quiet but filled up fast, and it was clear we weren’t the only ones enjoying ourselves. The whole space had a great energy. Everyone seemed genuinely excited to be there.
The restaurant itself is modern, open, and well lit with clean lines and a soft wood-and-stainless aesthetic. Each table has an induction burner built in, though it wasn’t used for this menu. One detail I really appreciated as a slightly introverted diner was the built-in call button at each table. It made the whole service experience feel smoother and more relaxed. Bathrooms were also spotless, which says a lot.
As far as soft openings go, this was the most organized I’ve attended. The staff knew every dish and could describe it clearly and specifically. The Hansangcharim format was a smart way to introduce the restaurant, especially for someone like me who isn’t super familiar with Korean cuisine. My partner is, and it gave both of us something to enjoy. It really let the restaurant show off its range.
The food was genuinely incredible. The flavor balance across the meal was masterful. Savory, sweet, salty, acidic, fatty, and spicy were all represented without anything clashing. I ended up overeating (because how could I not), but the meal still felt light and digestible even with so many components.
One standout dish was a carrot, potato, and meat stew served on the bone. It was rich and flavorful but somehow still perfect for a hot June afternoon. Every bite tasted slow-cooked and deliberate, and yet nothing felt heavy or overwhelming.
Presentation was also on point. Most dishes came out in stainless steel bowls or plates, and the colors and textures really popped. Pickled vegetables were extra crisp, and the meats arrived sizzling. Every single dish had its moment.
Service was fantastic. It was friendly, attentive, and well-paced. They gave a helpful overview of the Hansangcharim concept and each table had a printed menu explaining the dishes. The meal lasted about an hour and a half, with zero pressure to wrap things up quickly. Pacing was seamless.
Both of us left saying how much we wanted to come back. I’m already eyeing the snowflake dumplings and Korean fried chicken on the permanent menu. (they weren’t part of the soft opening, but based on what we had, I trust they’ll be executed just as well).
This was an easy 5-star experience. Can’t...

My wife Sophie and I had one of the most incredible dining experiences we've ever had at Gangnam Korean BBQ last Thursday. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the warm, welcoming ambiance and the attention to detail in the atmosphere — it’s modern, vibrant, and full of energy in the best way possible.
Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff didn’t miss a beat. Our server, Caleb, went above and beyond — attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate about the food and our experience. Every interaction felt sincere, and it made our night that much more special.
Now, let’s talk about the food. WOW. Every single dish was next-level good. We had the steamed egg, kimchi dumplings, spicy tteokbokki, and bibimbap with bulgogi — and each one felt like it deserved its own standing ovation. The flavors were rich, authentic, and expertly balanced. And to top it off, we enjoyed one of the best wines we’ve ever had: the Bohae Black Raspberry Wine.
What makes this place even more special is knowing that the recipes come straight from the owners’ family — literally passed down from their parents, who help prepare the meals. It felt like we were being welcomed into the home of a Korean friend, and their mom and dad were in the kitchen cooking just for us. That kind of authenticity is rare, and you can taste the love and history in every bite.
This is the S-tier restaurant in Spokane. If anyone ever asks me where to eat around here, Gangnam will be my first recommendation — no hesitation. Whether you’re a fan of Korean cuisine or brand new to it, this place will leave you speechless.
Thank you to the entire team — especially Caleb — for making our evening so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!
