Changed the crust recipe, completely not the same. This company had been a hail mary for my family since they first opened in the 70's, my mother even worked here in her youth.
The crust was cheap and they cut costs and put less cheese. (2 original fulls and 1 greek w chicken)
I understand the economy is difficult nowadays but they cut costs in the factors that made it what it truly was. (For instance the greek had a mix of olives, not only the fancy ones, that I completely respect and honestly added depth to the flavors.)
My mother was almost started crying over it after we left because it was so disappointing to her, as it is her safe place as my brother had his birthday here in the year 2000, and we go here for any super important celebration. She praises this place, and because we are low income and saved up to go here again for our own family christmas(not on christmas) dinner.
It was really sad watching her come to terms that the best calazones my whole family loves and enjoys not be the best anymore. She misses the doughyness of the dough and a better amount of cheese. And so do I and my brother.
I think it got to her because she used to go here with our now passed family members and so it doesn't bring back the same memories anymore.
Atleast the ms pacman game was still there, and running, that thing is basically my childhood best friend lol. Even if my brother wouldn't play with me anymore, I guess being over 33 makes arcade...
Read moreHad their calzones years ago and enjoyed them so decided to try the pizza. I ordered the Pete's combo. First off, the dough was very thin, dry, and lacking in terms of flavor. The sauce was very light, so paired with the crust left the whole pizza seeming dry. The toppings were good, and maybe slightly better than pizza hut but in the same league. Overall I would give the pizza 2-3 stars. The service though - completely unsatisfactory. Called ahead for a takeout order since I have young kids. I was told 30-35 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes after I called. When I arrived I was told my pizza was just going in the oven and would be 10 minutes, a little late but acceptable. However, after sitting there for 20 minutes, looking at the sign that said orders ready in 20-25 minutes - my pizza finally arrived. One of the cardinal rules of customer service is don't lie to the customer. The entire time I sat there no one else came in. There was still plenty of seating, and the number of staff I could see made me think they weren't shorthanded. There was no reason a pizza should take 50 minutes to make, except for they forgot to start it until I arrived - and perpetuated the mistake by being dishonest. Service 0/5 stars. For the money I'll definitely not be coming back - for mediocre pizza Domino's is faster,...
Read moreWay overpriced and low quality! I gave the service a three-star because the girl I spoke to was amazing with great customer service but the guy was rude. I called to make an order, the girl I spoke to was very nice and very helpful. I called back a few minutes later to add something to my order and the guy I spoke to was rude and then he just hung up on me without saying anything. He had an attitude like he doesn't like his job. So I got there and the girl that helped me when I was paying for my pizza was very nice and polite and pleasant. So I get my pizza home and it was a terrible sloppy mess that I couldn't eat with my hands I had to use a fork and knife not to mention the fact that it was a $30 pizza. It was a medium pizza with pepperoni jalapenos onions black olives green peppers and tomatoes and again $30 totally not worth it. I was thinking I was going to get a really great pizza for that much money but sadly it wasn't. One time I came here and got a pepperoni jalapeno calzone and it was excellent but another time I ordered a calzone with meatballs and ricotta cheese and it was mushy pasty the dough was undercooked it was bland and a total waste of money not to mention the fact that it tasted burnt. Maybe I'll be...
