Ordered a meal for myself to pick up and was told it would be ready in "5-10 minutes". I headed to pick up my order and there was no one to greet me at the door. I stood there for some time and the scruffy looking young man at the cash register did not bother to look in my direction. I finally went up to the bar and asked for my order which should have been ready. I was told it was not ready so I sat down and looked at the interesting decorations on the walls for a good 20 minutes or so before I was finally given my stuff. The young man muttered that he had to "get something" (presumably my milkshake) and he walked off. The apple fritters were very black so I asked if they could remake them and the cook agreed to do so quickly. By the time they were remade I was still waiting on my milkshake. I stood there for at least 10-15 minutes just waiting for the guy that disappeared to bring me my shake. Finally he appeared and I left to get in my car. I realized I needed some ketchup so I ran back in quickly to grab some. I was opening my food in my car when the young man came out asking what "I had grabbed". I told him I grabbed some ketchup and he kept asking as apparently he didn't hear me, what I had "taken". I showed him the ketchup I had put on some napkins and finally he seemed to believe me and let me go.. it was a strange interaction. The food was ok, not especially bad or good. The grilled cheese looked and tasted cheap, just some cheese slathered on a hamburger bun and the fries were soggy and bland. The custard shake was pretty good and the only item I might order again. I know it was pretty busy and apparently there were only two employees on front of house but being given the runaround then accused of stealing was enough to turn me off from this place. I will...
Read moreOverall I won’t return. The atmosphere was good and staff were in good moods, but that’s as far as my praise will go. Parking is a struggle, especially if you have kids or disabilities; you have to find parking within the neighborhood down residential streets. We went for lunch and were there for almost two hours. Granted it was Father’s Day so we expected to be there longer than normal, but we only ordered two burgers with no appetizers and being there for two hours after being immediately seated is a drag. We weren’t the only ones waiting. We were seated in the back room and all the tables around us were waiting on food and drinks and everyone was looking around trying to figure out what the hold up was. It become uncomfortable.
When we finally got our food, two burgers with fries and the potato salad, it just wasn’t good. The bun was larger than the patty and it felt like I was just eating bread. There was no sauce on either of the burgers (though there was only mustard on the tables that was available), so it was overall dry and uninteresting. The potato salad was very heavy on the raw onion and lacked other flavor. The fries were good, but again no sauce options or ketchup at the table.
We ordered a single slider for our toddler since that was the closest to kid friendly food on the menu and it did not come with any sides. The total bill was $67 including tip for the slider, two burgers, a fountain drink and a single beer. Each person will need to spend at least $20-$30 for a very basic order.
We were grateful the staff were as friendly and had good energy or else the entire experience would have...
Read more2024 review: returned here despite my previous bad experience bc people seem to like this place but my husband and I actually think we might have been on a prank show it was that bad. We're led to this back room with the weirdest vibe ever. Lights are so bright and everyone is in like a diabetic coma or something; just sitting around staring at their phones, no life in anyone, and no one has their food. Service was pretty slow. Once it did arrive, it was so underwhelming. Bun was cold, bacon was a joke (it's like the microwave kind), fries were terrible, no napkins or cutlery were provided (I had to walk behind the bar and get myself napkins). Ordered a slider ($7.5) for my kid (no kids menu) and the patty was the size of a triscuit. We legitimately think we might have part of some kind of experiment where they were seeing how bad it could be before someone broke character. Two burgers and one slider was $65. I look back at my 2019 review and long for the days I could get a burger for $21 lol. You will actually be happier just going to Zips instead of this place.
2019 review: Wasn't a fan. The ambiance was okay but the food and service were pretty meh. Small amount of cheese curds and my fries were all underdone... And I'm the kind of person that likes soggy fries. These were just undercooked and hard in the center.
Though the burger was pretty small, I was okay with that because the meat was good. However, it was not at all worth $21.50 for a burger and a shared thing of cheese curds. Will...
