HCK Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Spotsylvania Courthouse

I decided to try this place based on recommendation from a friend that wings and Mac n cheese was very good. On Saturday 8/24/24 @11:00 I ordered in person an 8 piece wing buffalo sauce...comes w/ fries and I added a side of Mac n cheese.

Mac n cheese comes with a cut up piece of breaded chicken tender place on top of Mac and drizzled with aioli sauce. No thanks can I just have plain old Mac n cheese. Oh and theu sprinkled yellow cheese ontop to insult you..pathetic! See pictures and tell me if you would eat that at $4.99 for this small container!

Fries.. nothing worth noting just crinkle fries dropped in oil but I like crinkle fries.

Wings..... horrible they are fried breaded not fried plain, soggy from breading and had zero buffalo sauce on them to include the taste @$17.99. see last comment at the end I believe they forgot.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this place it is not a traditional wing spot. I had to ask not to place the bleu cheese dressing in the hot box with chicken n fries. Look at what happened to the aioli sauce.. straight melt down.

Lastly check your order before you leave. When I was waiting for my order a customer came in to ask if fries came with his order because he didn't have any when door...

I came here for the first time at 12:30 PM on a Monday. I'm a big fan of Nashville hot chicken so I was excited to try it.

I was disappointed by two things:

They were out of coleslaw, which is odd to see in the middle of lunch hour. We ordered their chicken sandwiches, which were supposed to include coleslaw but instead came with nothing. We were offered no substitutes, just paid full price for an incomplete meal. We paid extra for lettuce/tomato/onion and Mac & cheese (sleazy style) toppings. It just felt weird to get shortchanged on this, and I would expect restaurants to make it up to their customer one way or another.

This is not really what I had in mind for Nashville style hot chicken. I expected a savory, spicy breading but what I got was more of a sweet glaze. It wasn't bad, but it didn't satisfy my craving for Nashville hot chicken.

On the bright side, the food was pretty tasty and it was served relatively quickly. I ordered Angry Hot, their second hottest sauce, and it was powerfully, but not overwhelmingly, spicy which is what I'd expect from the second hottest sauce at a place like this.

I really wanted to like this place and make it one of my regular spots to eat out, but it didn't live up...

Disappointed. The place is run by the owners mostly but they only care about upselling to make more money. This is not the one place that offers nashville hot chicken, I been to many and I know what I want and how I want it so I dont need your recommendations. I would rate 0 to their grilled chicken filet, and you dont get what they show on the picture placed by the counter. It's small skinny fillet and you pay extra for onions&tomatoes that should have been included in grilled burger. It is a complete joke. Overall, their fillet for all sandwiches are pretty small compare to other HCK franchises. If I want sauce on the side so I mean it, I know you trying to save your small sauce containers but no need to be surprised. It's disappointing that this place was close to us but will never go there again instead I don't mind traveling to stafford or woodbridge location who always been great in service and offer good size of chicken patties. In Fredericksburg, I would rather go to Hangry Joe's or Crimpson Coward that offers Nashville chicken as well as beef smash burgers, also their chicken size is bigger and they...
