It breaks my heart to write this, as my family and I have been day-one customers... coming over from the smaller place. My family from out of town come in looking for Cadillac Margaritas (the best) and we literally head there to celebrate almost every special occasion.
Speaking of... my son's friends took him there for his birthday. They came home from college looking forward to the food, drinks and just hanging out, as previously mentioned, this is our place. After receiving their food and beginning to eat, one of them found a large roach in their food. They quietly called someone over and the plate was immediately whisked away, but not before getting a picture. They were advised that the one meal will be replaced at no charge. However, what proceeded to happen afterwards was horrendous. The staff then kept an eye on them and fundamentally circled them the entire time, as if they had done something wrong. The staff, including management, wanted to ensure that they did not skip out on the bill. THE AUDACITY!!! DID ALL OF THE MEALS COME FROM THAT KITCHEN? That is an apology and full refund. Suppose if they did skip out on the bill...would it behoove them to make a scene or call the police? ...especially since it was addressed discreetly. The young men never finished their food... they were feeling awkward and they were ready to leave. They were all raised right, so they paid their bill and left. Even after paying their bill... they were being looked at, as if they did something wrong.
After hearing about the situation and seeing how terrible they all felt, it took me sometime to calm down. I did pay MEXICO PALACE a visit to address the situation... they are very familiar with my family and I. I came in asking by names. The Manager kindly offered to refund all of the young men, but that is not the issue. How dare you charge them at all... what were you thinking? Why would you treat them so poorly... that was your roach ... What did they do? What was it that made you feel ok with disrespecting them? YOU SIMPLY CANNOT REFUND HOW YOU MAKE A PERSON FEEL! My son has this sick look in his face when how he was made to feel comes up... that is a terrible feeling from the inside.
Before I posted, I made sure to let them know who we are... longtime customers and that it was going to be shared. Make no mistake we are not disgruntled customers just giving you a hard time or making things up. You know exactly who we are... I even shared my full name. HAD ONE ASPECT OF THIS BEEN DIFFERENT YOU WOULD HAVE ADDRESSED THIS TACTFULLY... WE DISCUSSED THIS FACE TO FACE. YOU CANNOT REFUND HOW YOU MAKE A PERSON FEEL! I will work on these young men to understand the value of their dollars and to know that you are not being disrespectful... when you are being disrespected.
A refund cannot fix everything... CLEAN YOUR KITCHEN... HERD YOUR ROACHES AND LEARN TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH DIGNITY...
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had at this restaurant! I ordered the chicken chimichanga, no beans, and no salad. My order arrived with the salad soaking the chimichanga and the waitress goes "oh I'll have them fix it" well the fix was scraping the salad off the top, pouring more cheese on top and bring it back to the table. They don't know if any food allergies could have been present when they did this. I ate part of the chimichanga and the sour cream that was under the 2nd layer of cheese had curdled. The waitress was no where to be found for a majority of our meal. She asked if I wanted a box and I told her no, explained what it tasted like and she said she would speak to the manager. After 10 minutes she brought the check with $5 off. My meal alone was $13.99, to which I hardly ate because it was nasty. I walked to the front and explained what happened. One of the other waiters asked them to remake it correctly and that the discount given was still to be given. Upon getting the remade food the 2 managers at the front proceed to run their mouths in Spanish talking bad about me because their kitchen staff messed up an order and instead of correcting it in the beginning decided to cross contaminated and ruin the meal. I went to pay for mine and 1 others meal, to which they reverted the $5 and said because they remade it I didn't need the $5 off. I gave them 2 options in the begining which was either take the entire meal off or remake it to which the manager rolled his eyes and became increasingly disrespectful. I have been here many times and had amazing service but tonight was the cherry on top. Don't be rude to your customers and ensure that your customers don't understand what you're saying in Spanish before you...
Read moreMexico Palace: 5/5! It's in Southpoint, formerly known as Mi-Mi's cafe. Pardon my over enthusiasm in this review 😅 but they are now my new favorite place. Ok. So..you walk in, and some of the old fancy decor remains, mixed in with the Mexican decor, and huge booths offering more privacy, hue from the red room and horse head statues etc, and chandeliers.. place looks like its owned by the cartel, like..fanciest Mexican Restaurant you'll walk into. 😂 Its clean, spotless, service is on point. Their salsa is great...got just the right bite. And white sauce like El Charro serves. 💗 Hostess is way shorter than even me..sorry. always enamored by that. Lol. Our server looked like the over the rainbow singer guy..sorry, description is shorter than spelling his name out here. With super thick accent and laid back style like.."ey..you ok buddy?" To my fiancee 😂 ...he was awesome lol. Drinks are refilled immediately, chips hit the table immediately, tables cleared immediately, etc. On point, on point! So is the food. I got the fajitas with the pineapple I cant pronounce..they came served in a pineapple shell, greenery and all attached. Prob part of my over enthusiasm in the review but cooked to perfection. All the finer details are on point. The food is about the price of other places, but about double in quantity and 10x in quality. And!!!! They have Tamales! I'll have to try next time. Will def be back. Sorry..didnt try the margarita to speak on, but they looked awesome....
