The place is really spacious and well decorated inside. Once you walk in you’re going to say do I order or do I sit down or how does this work after doing a couple 360s we realize there was a line that you order behind the wooden fence and then you sit down anywhere you’d like. They do have a double hand washing sink right as you exit the line. I don’t know why if it doesn’t work there’s no sign that says out of service, but no water was running Even messed with it for a bit thinking it might’ve been censored. The service sucks without a doubt as for the food it’s fast like not even 2 minutes fast lol. you gotta check it out your self. I personally thought the brisket I got was all fat. I tried biting the first piece and I couldn’t chew it as for the tri-tip. It was really tender, but dry. The pulled pork was bland and very, very greasy the barbecue ribs or ribs. Should I say due to the lack of sauce but they do have square bottles of sauce options(3) I just prefer mines glaze and coated. The ribs were tender but dry. The macaroni and cheese was fresh, but no flavor. Just taste like raw flour. They have the right idea, but not executed. my favorite item would be the green beans I expected them to be the frozen green beans. I couldn’t tell, but they were delicious and fresh to me they tasted well seasoned and garlicky. The cornbread taste Almost like a apple cinnamon muffin due to being so moist and wet. Had a fresh bottle of Coke to go with the meal so delicious just the right amount of gas. I love bottled coke. Paid $50 not including tip for a three plate meal plus the five dollar upgrade for ribs And a pulled pork sandwich with two sides, a soda and cornbread. I personally didn’t enjoy the food as much as I thought I would, but I think I am going to give them another chance in the future. They do have lots of TVs and lots of football games going on so if you like sports, I think this would be a great...
Read moreThis was my first time coming to this location which is closer to my house. It was late so I got my food to go. I always dine in at their other location and most bbq places I go to. The dining area seems bigger since it looks like one place instead of separated like at the other location. It is similarly decorated the way a bbq place should look with the wood and signs on the wall.
I got the Ultimate Bbq Sandwich which comes with Brisket , Pulled Pork , and a Hot Link with Slaw. It's one of my favorites at Jessie Rae's so I had to do a comparison. I usually get a 2 or 3 Meat Plate at Big B's on St. Rose. I got Corn On The Cobb and Bbq Beans as my sides and the Spicy Bbq Sauce. The Brisket and Pulled Pork was very good , in fact I think this time the Brisket was better here than the last 2 times I got it at St Rose location. This was the first time I had their Hot Link and it was okay , but Jessie Rae's Hot Link is better. Corn On The Cob was fresh , hot , and good. The Bbq Beans as usual was very good , but this time I didn't have any pieces of Brisket in it like I usually get. The Spicy Bbq was was perfect for the sandwich. It's so big I use a fork because it will just fall apart which is to be expected , but this way you get to try everything and for a good price. I've had their Baby Back Ribs at the St Rose location and they are some of the best in town.
The cashier was nice and I got my food fairly quickly. The restaurant and counter area was clean and well organized. I would definitely recommend you coming here if you've never been. There are a ton of bbq restaurants in Las Vegas , but most are mediocre or just plain not worth going to. Over the past few years the quality of bbq in Vegas has gone downhill. Big's B's has been consistently...
Read moreI might have made the mistake of visiting a BBQ restaurant too late in the evening, but here goes.
I ordered the 3 meat plate, got beef ribs, "moist" brisket, pulled pork and added a Jalapeño Link.
The link was pretty good. Not super hot as I might have hoped, but good flavor.
The pulled pork was drenched in sauce coming from the kitchen. Not expected. Not what I like. If meat needs to be covered in sauce it isn't made right, IMO. But that is their style so noted going forward. It did have a bunch of hard chunks, possibly bone.
The last two were deeply disappointing. The beef ribs were like eating bark off a tree. Very tough. Not very flavorful.
The brisket that was supposed to be "moist" was completely dried out (to the point the back side served down had marks on it where it was completely dry. I would have hated to see "lean" which was the other option. It had a good smoke ring but was super dry. And due to it being dry it was completely unappealing.
It did go in after 8 pm. 815 ish. Maybe this is all they had left. I routinely visit smoked meat joints that when they are out, they are out. I expected to be told what was out when I entered.
But if what you have left is this, then just say you are out. Don't serve this.
I will state I am a huge smoked meat snob. When I go back home to Texas I visit the likes of Pecan Lodge, Coopers and Hard 8.
Maybe this is better earlier in the day. But it wasn't last night. This is what I expect from Dickey's. And is why I don't go...
