Came here when they first opened. I remember it being pretty good. But, maybe I was drunk because today was horrible.
Server wouldn't serve me at the bar. No reason. There were maybe 3 parties seated but instead of serving them each on their own, he's treating it like it's slammed and he needs to bring all the drinks out at the same time, even though people ordered at different times. Odd. Then, my food was ready but he was in the bathroom. At the end, he asked me if it was good. It wasn't. At all and I'll explain but he tells me as I'm paying that the item I ordered (green mussels) have not been good. Why not tell me this while I'm ordering? They were horrible.
First, they charge by weight. You get a pound of green mussels for 15 bucks. Good deal? Nope. These were some of the most pathetic, bottom of the barrel, small, frozen, chewy mussels I've ever had. And they leave both sides of the shell, so that takes up most of the weight. Also... Several of them were empty. And no, they didn't fall into the bag. I only had two loose ones and about 7 empty shells. Also the little stomach piece that is usually attached to the shell, was breaking off telling me they are old and frozen. So, I had to dig out that little hard piece with my fingers. Just garbage. And, the server tried to tell me those were bad like they were the only bad thing? Nope. I ordered a side of rice, since they don't come with anything like most boil places do. The rice was old and sticky.
This place has taken a giant nose dive, sadly. A poorly made Arnold palmer for 4 bucks. Side of rice for 4 bucks. 23 bucks for a wasted meal. Yikes.
You guys should just close. Stop serving this trash. I'm feeding ill as I'm writing this about an hour...
Read moreWent out on Halloween night so it was pretty dead inside (which I enjoyed). Our server, Omar, was very nice! I ordered the Captain's Choice combo with shrimp, lobster, crab legs in crab n spice sauce. The food was... just okay. I wasn't really wowed by it. I don't particularly care for shrimp with the head still on, much less not deveined. Plus the texture was rubbery and mushy at the same time.
The crab legs were difficult to crack, and they only supply you a pair of flimsy kitchen scissors (which I found a little tacky) to attempt to crack them open. A crab fork would have been nice to have.
The best thing was the lobster. It was the first thing I ate, and it was the meal's saving grace. It was so succulent and paired nicely with the sauce. The lobster and the customer service saved this from being a 3 star review.
Oh, and there's no alcohol served here. Not really a problem for me since I don't really drink, but it was a bummer for my partner. So if you enjoy alcohol with your seafood,...
Read moreFrom Virginia. My first time eating here and it was not a good experience. The food was bland and watered down. Plus it's rather pricey. Ordered 1 pound of snow crab legs (2 clusters) for $34, 1 pound of frozen crawfish for $14 and crab fries for $14. For almost $80 worth with tax and tip included, this is not a great place to eat. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere and make a bang for your buck.
The seafood does not come with corn, potatoes or sausages, you have to pay EXTRA for those.
The frozen crawfish was rotten and watered down. The taste was awful.
The snow crab legs was watered down as well and the clusters were relatively thin. That for $34 might as well pay a little more and eat at an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET.
The crab fries was good BUT there's not much crab meat in it. For $14 it's ludicrous.
I was surprised they didn't charge for water.
PS I was still starving and I had a stomachache literally after 20...
