UPDATE: Visited again on 20 Jul 2025 and received the same great service and quality food/dessert. For the benefit of the business, I am still recommending this place to everyone - it's awesome! However, from a selfish standpoint, I wish people would stop coming here so I don't have to battle the crowds. Attached new photos. I initially tried Sul & Beans (S&B) years ago and I remember how outstanding the experience was but failed to rate/review the business at that time. I knew I'd definitely return for yet another round of fabulous desserts and I could capture/summarize my entire experience at that point. I just wasn't sure when that time was going to be; though, I was certain it was going to happen. Well, the day/time finally occurred and my family and I stopped in on 3 Jan 2024.
The one thing I learned is that the desserts, specifically the Bingsoo, are massive! During our first experience, we stopped here immediately after a large/filling dinner and made the mistake of ordering a Bingsoo for each of us thinking we could easily finish it all. We learned quickly that this was next to impossible for us as we struggled to even get to the 50% completion rate. Nevertheless, the flavor, texture, and even the presentation of our Bingsoo were extraordinary. The same description can be used for our recent visit as we ordered "only" one Oreo Bingsoo (pictured below) to share, based on lessons learned from our initial visit.
We also ordered a Boong Uh Bbang (also spelled Bungeoppang, and also known as Taiyaki), and got one custard filling and one red bean filling to go with our Bingsoo because I've always wanted to try it here. The Boong Uh Bbang was served super warm and fresh; the fish pastry was very soft on the inside and crispy on the outside which just brings a smile to anyone's face. All-in-all, S&B's desserts are hands-down unparalleled.
The customer service at S&B is great and the price-to-quantity/quality ratio is sensational. If you haven't been here before, you need to immediately stop by - I am definitely going to return in the very near future to try other items on their menu. As a reminder, if you and your party are arriving right after a hearty meal, then I strongly suggest you consider sharing a Bingsoo (one Bingsoo per couple). Otherwise, order whatever and however many dessert options your heart desires (or can handle) - I highly recommend this place to all locals...
Read moreI had the worst experience eating here. I love the desserts and everything but the customer service is horrible. I cannot believe the way they act with me. I feel that other people also have similar experience with them. I ask them for the code for the bathroom and the proceed to yell at me. I really don't understand because I said it so kindly manner. I ask kindly and Its truly horrible how horribly trained this place is. My family members have all come here and stated that they also had a bad experience on customer service. It is so rude to be yelling at customers this way. I was also waiting for my desserts to come out. I ordered a Oreo Bingsoo. The ice was melting when I got it. Then, I went in a less busy day and I realize that NO ONE was at the register. I had to wait for so long. I saw employees at the back on there phones and didn't notice me. I kept calling them and STILL NO ANSWER. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS the bathroom. It was so messy and I saw actual poop stains and horrible smell I could not understand. I question myself if employees were even trained to clean the bathrooms. Sometimes, I see toilet papers all around the floor. I do not feel its a clean place. I feel that this place would be better if they were more clean and nicer people. it is NEVER okay to be yelling...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst place to get Bingsoo ever! Do not come here. And their Taiyaki is soso. But one thing they do have is the absolute worst customer service. Every time I come here there is a problem. This time I come and try to get a strawberry cheese bingsoo and add Oreos to it. They said they can not add oreos to it so I asked for a Oreo bingsoo and to add cheesecake to it and they said they couldn’t. They said, “their boss does not allow it and watches the cameras all the time.” I’m paying $13 for a bingsoo and willing to pay for extra toppings but you won’t even build it? You train your employees to not build a bingsoo the way someone wants it? That doesn’t make any sense.
Every time I’ve come here, my friends and I have had bad experiences. Idk if they have a thing against non- Asian people but we never feel welcome here and they always give us issues. Terrible customer service, terrible Management and all for some mediocre bingsoo, No thank you.
We’ll Mr. Boss. If you focused on having better customer service as much time as you watched your cameras you’d have plenty more happy and satisfied customers. Instead we’ll take our business and...
