The Noodle Man — Restaurant in Spring Valley

This place left a bad taste in my mouth and not because of the food. The people told me I had to put my name down to be seated so I did. Then asked the wait. The young girl replied, they're going in order. We still ended up being passed up by people who came in after us and I know for a fact they had their names down after us... The women serving were so busy but didn't seem to care about customer service. One asked what we wanted to drink when we were finally seated after a long wait but never brought the drinks. We waited almost 30 mins before waving another lady down for our drinks. Even then, she took forever to bring it. But the Asians who were seated well after us had their drinks and orders taken immediately after seating. That was a slap in the face for sure. My bf kept asking to leave but I wanted to give them one last chance. The noodles they brought for my bf and daughter were so undercooked and doughy they wouldn't eat it. The appetizer we ordered was brought when we were done eating and waiting for our check.

To top it off, one of the ladies made a scene about not leaving a tip. And bringing up how Americans do that. Let me tell you chinese lady, we tip well when service is good. But how we were treated at this restaurant was beyond unacceptable. We shouldn't have to be Asian to be treated with respect. Please train your employees...

This is the 2nd location we have here in the valley for the famous The Noodle Man! I work near Chinatown area so this is music to my ears! If you haven't try this restaurant, you owe yourself to come by and try their authentic Chinese style noodle soup. The flavor is just right and portion is very generous for the price.

My favorites are the braised pork & egg, spicy beef shank, cucumber salad. Those are my keto favorites and price is really reasonable.

Their knife sliced noodle is really authentic and you can see the chef making it through large window which let you see the entire kitchen!

Staff is friendly and attentive and so far, it's a hidden gem because it's located in a shopping centre that is not completely finish yet and still waiting for other tenants to come in. But the restaurant space is complete and ready for customers, just no...

EDIT: we were confronted on our way out by a rude server who loudly said, "No tip?!" She actually blocked our way and said it very loudly, creating a scene. We told her, yup, that's right, tips are for good service, and we explained all of the issues we had. This place is a JOKE.

Worst service ever. I'm not sure if this is the norm, or maybe because it was Christmas day, but WOW, so bad. We waited about 45 minutes before sitting down. Two parties that arrived after us with the same number of people were seated before us. We ordered waters and hot tea. We waited 25 minutes before having to ask for our drinks.
