NEW REVIEW June 07, 2024
Very disappointed with their goat fried biriyani - only rice and barely any meat!!!
Previously I had rated this place 4 stars because of their biriyani in particular. After having disappointing experiences elsewhere I thought that I found a good place to please my appetite and biriyani craving soul.
Fast forward, I ordered today goat fried biriyani lunchtime to take out. While serving all I found was 95% rice 2 bones with no meat, few fatty inedible items and just 2 tiny pieces of meat! I was so shocked and thought of literally driving to the restaurant to show them exactly what they served after paying $17/- There used to be a lady who used to manage the counter however she wasn’t around.
Lesson learned. We will never visit this place again and let all our friends and community not to visit that restaurant whose interests are only to cheat loyal customers.
I hope the readers find this post useful snd take precautions before ordering anything from that restaurant.
I wanted to give a zero rating however due to my prior experience, I will give them 1 star rating.
PRIOR REVIEW: After having very disappointing biriyani experience at Biriyani pot, I tried Hyderabad house specifically for goat biriyani (fried or dhum) and their chicken tikka masala with Naan. All 3 items were good in my opinion. I definitely do not miss biriyani pot which is literally serving trash… Thank you Hyderabad house at the woodlands area and please DO NOT disappoint me and your loyal customers. Do serve biriyani with fair amount of meat along with proportionate rice. Please enhance customers delights with egg on top of the biriyani you used to serve in the past. I haven’t seen egg anymore. Is it cost cutting? That’s why rate you 4 stars...
Read moreI've been to this place twice. The first time around I went for lunch, and they left a +ve impression on me, perhaps because I ordered from the specials and everything tasted fresh and OK. I also noticed that day, they were serving items at a reasonable pace. The next time around I went for dinner a few weeks later. It was a disaster. Maybe they had some situation with their main chef not available (I can only guess), but whatever it was, the way they conducted business that evening was abysmal. First they kept customers waiting for a minimum of 30 min for their orders and they never bothered to refill water or drink cups or even ask. I ordered "Egg Bonda" for myself and kid's mini-dosa for my son. That they got right (easy enough to make). I also ordered "Gongura Chicken" curry. They served chicken mixed with Gongura pickle! Unbelievable. I know a thing or two about how that dish needs to be prepared and it is not as simple as that and if it were, it would not be priced that much. I've had it at Biryani Pot on Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX. They charge less than these guys for that dish and they make the best Gongura chicken known to mankind. I also ordered "Nellore Fish Curry" and this one was another shocker! They mixed fish with the onion curry typically served when making egg curry - you could literally taste the egg in the curry. All in all, huge disappointment for $41+ spent. If they were incredibly busy that night and had problems in the kitchen, they should stick to the things on the menu that they do well, and not serve stuff like this they have no clue about. Not going back until they get their...
Read moreI went here because I have been to the Westheimer one many times, but this place doesn't even have the same quality food, I thought it would be same because it's just a different branch? And it seems as if they're always trying to lie about prices 😮 it happened with different items couple of times, but last time I ordered a chicken curry, and IF YOU ADD a naan to that order, you'll get that naan for only 99 cents when its regular price is like $2.99 or so, which I didn't know then,I know now. But this employee said to me that the curry comes with rice and a naan, I ok-ed it. And when I went to pay for one curry which should cost me about $10-13, he says my bill is $20. And then I tried to ask him what's going on, he couldn't explain it to me correctly at all! He kept saying "naan is point nine nine dollars" over and over again without telling me why the bill still so much higher than it should be,I was super confused. I mean I understand that people may have trouble with language, that's fine, but he wasn't able to tell me what was going on at all until I read the menu and deals and figured out myself. So I just wanna let you all know, the curry doesn't come with naan or rice, you'll just pay less for the naan if you add it to your order. Anyway then I cancelled the rice, bought only the curry that was supposed to be spicy+the naan. I've bought this curry from the other location and it was really great! This was very mild and flavorless, very sad because Hyderabad food never disappointed me before. Naan was fine tho, but if I want Hyderabad food again, I won't go here, I'll only go to the...
