Me and a party of 8 enter, 6 adults and 2 children. The Hispanic lady behind the bar instantly told us that we couldn’t split our party. We had 4 adults at the bar, 2 children and 2 adults seatEd directly behind at the table. The Hispanic chick told me to ask the lady at the front to be seated due to sitting at the table, being an owner of a bar I totally understood. I went up to the front and asked the young lady could I sit my kids and my husband at the table directly behind the bar she stayed” sure that’s no problem”. She deserve a reward for such respectful and polite behavior. As we proceed to sit, the Hispanic lady behind the bar went and got a Manager who told us we couldn’t split the party. She was very loud and rude, which started to cause a scene and one of our colleagues became very irate as well. At this point they have caused a scene. The manager slammed the silverware on the table and said “if y’all want to split just split” and walked off. I’m still confused why is it a problem we go to Black Bear Diner every weekend and have never had one issue with splitting a large party. We have a AAU basketball team so we are always in large groups. After about 5 mins everything have calmed down. Never not one time did anyone take our order. 2 people behind the bar and we became invisible. People walked up and they assist them without simply just asking us “would we like water”. One of our colleagues asked are you guys going to assist us. Black female rudely yells I’m helping someone else. God bless her soul because she would never be able to represent my business. Customers are always right. You have to learn how to deescalate an issue not make it worse. No need to be rude with those who have caused you no harm. She begin fighting verbally with my colleague for over 4 mins. She was assisted by her manager who stated “I’m not going to let y’all talk to my employee like that. I tried being the mediator but the manager told me clearly that my statement of running and operating a bar was irrelevant. Ok cool that’s fine. I’ve came a long way myself so I knew at this point she was ignorant. I’m upset with the manager for performing in such a matter. I expect this behavior from the young African American girl she’s just looking for guidance and unfortunately she’s not going to prosper working under that manager. I will be writing corporate Monday morning. I’m so embarrassed for our generation to act in such a manor. I’m hoping the owner of this company get this review and make some...
Read moreTo Whom It May Concern,
On July 26, 2025, I placed a to-go order at your location, ordering from the bar area. My experience began pleasantly — I was greeted by a young, light-skinned African American hostess who seemed nice and welcoming. The server who took my order was polite and helpful. She informed me that the kitchen’s fryer was down and nothing requiring grease could be cooked. I appreciated the transparency and adjusted my order, though in hindsight, I probably should have left then.
When I returned to pick up my food, things changed. I walked in and began heading to the bar where I had originally placed the order. The same hostess was now on her phone and did not greet me — though, admittedly, I was also on mine at that moment.
Suddenly, I was stopped by a large, burly Caucasian man with a brown beard. His belly flopped over his pants, and he wore a heather gray shirt with the Toasted Yolk logo tucked in. He didn’t say a word. He simply stood in front of me with his arms folded, physically blocking the path like a security guard. I stepped back, confused, and explained I was there for my to-go order. Only then did he respond, coldly stating, “The host will be able to assist you,” and pointed behind me.
This was unnecessary and rude. If the hostess had been paying attention — instead of distracted on her phone — this wouldn’t have even happened. Even more frustrating, she asked if I had placed the order online, despite having assisted me earlier. I had to remind her that she helped me in person. Just seconds later, the original server who took my order appeared from the back with my food in hand.
If that man was a manager, he absolutely needs customer service training. He stood there saying nothing, arms folded, blocking access like a bouncer, and only spoke after I presented my receipt. His body language alone was aggressive, unwelcoming, and completely inappropriate for hospitality. That is not how you represent a restaurant — franchise or not.
The hostess also needs coaching — her attention should be on guests, not her phone. To-go guests deserve just as much respect and direction as dine-in customers.
Customer service is everything. It can make or break a business. I genuinely hope this location addresses these concerns and takes this as an opportunity to improve.

Read moreI really wanted to love this place... But service was HORRIBLE !!! Husband and I went on Fathers Day.. they had a 65 min wait, which is understandable being fathers day... We showed up when we had like 40 min left to wait.. we saw 2 tables outside open on the patio. So we asked if it was okay to take that table. They said sure and seated us right away. Well we waited 20 min with no server and when he showed up he started complaining about another table (totally unprofessional) then he took our drink orders and the drinks didn’t show up for another 15 min.. at that time we ordered Food. A father and son sat at the table next to us and was waiting for the server as well.. he Came out and took their drink order when he took ours.. keep in mind we have empty cups waiting and waiting. The father and son got impatient since they had been waiting for over 20 min for drinks they called the neighboring server and complained she looked annoyed, as if our server had been horrible all morning. She went and bought out their food and we are still waiting for ours, On top of it we got there over 30 min prior to them!!! We finally got the same server and told her we have been waiting for about 45 min for food. She said she would get a manager, after explaining our experience she said she would get the food and apologize at the point we didn’t want anything to do with the resturant we just wanted to go. We picked our stuff up and walked inside where OUR SERVER is taking care of his “inside tables” in the AC and totally didn’t care about his other 2 tables outside! THEY WILL NEVER SEE OUR BUSINESS AGAIN!!! All the manager can do it apologize, maybe talk to your server and said what he did was totally...
