I've only been here once, and it was Friday around 9:20 am. Overall, my experience was average. I've heard great things about Onyx, and was expecting more. I bought 2 large (16 oz) hot drinks and the total was less than $12. It looked like there were 3 or 4 orders in front of me. Pros: -Had several plant milks to choose from. -Barista was friendly. -Inside was clean, spacious, and had a nice vibe. -Drinks were not overly sweet. -The Onyx Delight drink has a very nice flavor combo. -I asked that one drink be kid temperature, and it was. Or at least it was after waiting for the unknown amount of time it was out on the counter. I don't know about the temperature of the other drink. -I'm normally pretty sensitive to caffeine, and I didn't get the jitters. Idk if that means their coffee is weak, if it's different from other coffees, or if I was active enough that it didn't make me jittery. Cons: -Only 2 sizes- 12 and 16 oz. -Plant milk subs are $0.75. It honestly bothers me when places charge that much for plant milk subs. -I feel like the drinks were not flavored enough. -Didn't ask if the order was for here or to go, and I forgot to let them know it was to go. They did serve the order in to go cups. -Didn't label the cups with my name or what kind of drink it was for me to tell them apart. I had to ask them to do this. -The to go drinks did not have lids on them, but the barista did put them on after labeling the drinks. This may seem very minor, but some lids are a little difficult to put on correctly, if not put on correctly can result in pouring coffee all over yourself/burning yourself, and I was holding a baby so I would have had to do this with one hand. Also, putting a lid on immediately after preparing keeps in the heat. -No drink carriers with handles. -And here is my biggest problem. The cashier took my name with my order, and I never heard it called out. It wasn't busy, so it's not like they had too many things going on that they couldn't call out my name again. I had an infant with me, and was trying to keep her entertained and quiet over by the windows. 10+ minutes later, I go up to the barista to let her know the drinks are to go. Turns out my drinks had been done for who knows how long, were in to go cups with no lids, and were the only drinks out to be grabbed. Maybe my name had been called 20 seconds before I went up there, or maybe this is just how they run this place. If the later is true, they should at least cover the drinks so they...

First off; I have been coming here since it first opened when it was Onyx and I come here often. The service on my past few visits have been very slow; especially in the drive through. Today I decided to go in because the line of cars was too long. Usually when I go in I can be out in about 3 minutes, but today the service was really slow. I knew I was going to be waiting a long time when the woman next to me said she had been waiting for ten minutes for a cinnamon roll. She had to ask the staff to just reach into to counter and had her her cinnamon roll so she would not be late. I ordered a small coffee. That was it nothing else. After my order was taken the person who took it left to go help at the drive through window and one person was left to make orders at the counter. I waited for a few minutes and saw five other people come in and have their orders taken while people were still waiting on their orders. I waited for ten minutes for one cup of coffee; I finally had to leave and let them keep my money because I was going to be late. I do not understand why it takes so long to pour one cup of coffee. They just lost a loyal customer who has been coming here for years. The service is just so slow and the product is not worth the price anymore considering they have raised...

Very poor customer service and product. I ordered an avocado toast with egg for $6.50. This seemed expensive but I thought it would be worth it. Not at all! I wouldn’t pay more than $3 for what I was given. The quality of product was subpar for the price. White bread with a thin spread of avocado. This is the second time I’ve had an issue with this place. There is no consistency at Onyx Coffee Lab in Springdale, AR. Some of the staff I have interacted with have had an arrogant attitude rather than being kind and helpful. I wasn’t even offered anything in exchange for the poor quality. I don’t go to an, “upscale, small batch” coffee shop to be treated poorly and pay high prices and not even be offered to correct the issue or offer an alternative. I’d rather go to Starbucks. At least I know I’ll be getting what I pay for and the customer service will be better. I expect more out of...

Update: Red Kite is the real deal. I had been frequenting this location (as an Onyx Coffee Lab) for years and was skeptical about someone else coming in. But I’m happy to say that RK (which brews and sells Onyx beans and works closely with them) is equally good — offering many of the same drinks (Onyx Delight & Coffee Phosphate being our long-standing favorites), AND some exciting and delicious concoctions that are all their own (like their wonderful Savy [sic] Travy salted mocha and this to-die-for Honey Bitters Cappuccino & One, pictured here). Since the decor remains unchanged, it’s still got the same warm, inviting, laidback vibe, and the baristas have proven to be every bit as talented and friendly. In a word, I’m impressed. And, I’m actually glad that RK decided to come in and give Springdale something to crow about!

I love to see a cortado on the menu because it's not a very common drink. Most folks who are trained by the green siren folks are getting a pumpkin spiced latte or a frappuccino and the old school folks just get a plain drip. I'll get a cortado if I can. This morning's cortado was perfect. It's half expresso (two shots) and half steamed (not foamed) milk. For five stars, it's served in a short glass. This was all of that and it was great. Lots of caffeine, not a lot of fluid. I stayed here at Red Kite for my first "office" of the day, spending two hours writing emails and catching up on the weekend's events before heading onwards.

This NWA chain has changed the game for coffee lovers and those who just need a quick spot to stop and work or meet. The staff is talented, friendly, and always has a smile. Now days, that can be hard to come by. Also, every one of their locations has its own flavor of decoration and design that is top notch compared to other places you may have grown accustomed to. Make sure to stop by and see all their locations - you will not be disappointed and in for quite the treat! I happened to have the spring seasonal Iced Coconut Milk Lavendar Latte. The Barista went above and beyond with the presentation - much appreciated!
