Antonio's Pizza — Restaurant in Springfield

Well, in my 72 years, ive had...shall we say, several pizzas. And I grew up in Champaign where the best pizza came from Garcia's and Papa Del's. Garcias had the slices with the gut buster as their primary, while Papa Dels had a deep dish whole pizza.

When I moved to Springfield over four decades ago, we yearned for both but started ordering Papa John's, and others similar And while my kids said they liked Antonio's., truthfully I had never added one or ate a slice.

Now I ordered the BIG ONE AND EDITED it to get rid of onions, black olives, and green peppers but added tomatoes. Aa I was just down the street I stopped by Reds Bait after picking it up to see a friend.

Trevor had just ate and declined the offer but I just had to grab a slice....and that was when I first got a glimpse of it there in the dark by virtue of street lights - good God It was loaded, hot and loaded, so I waited till it cooled off a little.

I stopped in a parking lot on the way home, as I had to try it and I found it difficult to stop and continue on my way. I just had to have another bite!!!

All I can say is this was one of the best pizzas I have EVER eaten. Not too much sauce. LOTS of ingrediants. Every slice was actually cut and easy to separate. And it was H.O.T.!

So mucho Kudos to the Antonio's on Lake Plaza. I'll just te people i was headed to Deja Vu so they won't...

I'm done with this place. The food is mediocre at best, but it's better than chain pizza, that's for sure. What's worse is their service. It's not like I've eaten here just once and on more than one occasion my order has been wrong. Tonight was the last straw. After an hour, I still did not receive my delivery. I called and was told there was a problem with the order and they needed to remake my pizza. Ok, not a big deal, things happen, I get that. What I don't get is why didn't they contact me. Also, I've worked in the industry, the second thing you do after letting the customer know, is to take care of the customer, give them something for the trouble. Nope, nothing offered, but I was assured that my order was ready and I was the first stop, just down the road from their restaurant. Nearly another hour later, the pizza finally arrived and low and behold....they forgot my dipping sauces for an appetizer and again, nothing was offered for the my order arriving nearly 2 hours after I placed the...

Have ordered from these guys before and thought their pizza was good. Placed an order for 7:30 pickup. My husband arrives at 7:30 and it’s already under the warmer. When we got home the bottom was burnt and the cheese was hard like it had been sitting for a while. We called the store just asking to get a replacement. Manager was very rude and told my husband it’s not his fault the pizza got cold on the way home. Ummm we order papa John’s on the OTHER side of town and the pizza is STILL hot when we get home. Rude customer service is a no go for me. I wrote an email, however haven’t received a response back ( not that I was expecting one). Will not be going back...
