I've been here twice thus far, both @ the S. Glenstone location across from Mall. First experience wasn't so fun, although the BBQ Chicken pizza's outta this world. I ran into my friend's dad there who had also sat down @ the bar. I had no idea it was him or recognize him until about 10 min. in. He told me that they have great food but their customer service sucked. They forgot his french fries that he had ordered w his grinder. I had to keep asking for refills. I still tipped despite crappy service. My friend's father told me to make sure n try the grinders next time. So that's exactly what I did 4 my 2nd return. The second experience was a bit different but kinda the same. I entered n waited 3 min. to b greeted cause the sign says 'wait to b seated'. They weren't really busy @ all. Maybe tending to 6 to 7 tables. So I just went up to the bar n sat down. A couple min. later I was greeted. Again I had to ask for my first refill uggh. I ordered the A1 Bomber n boy was it awesome. I also ordered the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad to go. I ordered the salad cause it was what the bartender during my 1st Bellacino's experience told me he recommended. The server asked me tonight how I wanted my dressing cause 'most the time they put it on the side' is what she said. I told her I wanted it on the salad. Just opened up the salad n they gave me no dressing on salad nor on the side. I tried calling that location tonight to tell them of the problem n I couldn't get through. So I called the S. Campbell location n they fixed it. Also they told me that Mediacom was giving them(the S. Glenstone location) problems tonight n wasn't letting anyone get through to them by phone. So I believe I'm just gonna have to leave locations n just try the S. Campbell location n hopefully will get better w the combo of great service n great food. Oh n the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad was just blah, nothing to brag about. I'll keep everyone updated if I can. So I give them 3 stars for the great food. They get my other two stars when n if they give us great service. I kinda wish they had half stars we could give cause if they did it would b 2 1/2 stars. 2 1/2 for great food n just OK on chicken salad. I might come back n a yr or so to the S. Glenstone location to see if they've upped their...
Read more1 large Sicilian Square half-sausage 14x14 pizza: $17.30
I've been twice in a little under a week. On my first visit we were going to order a large Sicilian square but they were out of dough balls except for two small, so we got those instead. Either they're still figuring out how much dough to prepare for a day over there or it's selling extremely well, the latter is definitely believable, it's very good.
Pizza is usually best when eaten right out of the oven and Bellacino's is no different. Pizza Boxes have a steaming effect which almost always results in the crust softening and losing the good crisp, so I would recommend eating inside if you really want the dough to have that little bit of a crunch to it. That said, it travels fine and was still great.
Crust: better fresh, good carry-out. Covered in a butter/garlic brush, very good texture, like fresh unsliced white bread. Sauce: Simple marinara, reminds me of Jet's but thinner, slightly less sweet Cheese: Mozzarella, thick on the non-edge pieces and prone to separate from the sauce. I would guess pre-shredded part-skim just because that's standard but it may be whole. I'd be surprised if they shredded it themselves (but it's a great sign if they shred it themselves) Sausage: Just like any Italian-style sausage. Not spicy, classic fennel taste.
It's definitely better than any national chain pizza, which puts it at 4 stars, and it gets the 5th star for ambiance and staff. Good pizza, good space, good people, good...
Read moreVisiting from out of town and after the reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Not happy at all, waited almost 5 minutes to be even acknowledged and honestly think the only reason someone came over is because I turned to walk out but my husband said to wait another minute. Specifically asked for a table and was given a booth even though tables were open. Everyone else that came after me were seated immediately. Placed our order and substitute fries for the salad and figured we would get them when the salad came out. Nope, got our meal and still no fries. The waitress did come and say that they still working on the fries. I'm thinking how hard is it to do some fries. Are they getting whole potatoes and making them fresh or just opening a bag? Finally had to ask them to go because we had to get back on the road. We finally got the fries as we were leaving when she practically shoved them in our hands. These are the fries that took over 40 minutes to get. Anyone could see that I was not happy at all. I spent $45 on the meal which isn't cheap and couldn't even enjoy my meal. There was a guy working behind the bar who was going to pretty much all the tables asking if they were ok, if they needed anything. Never came to mine to ask us if we were happy. Will definitely not be coming back and will be letting others know to find other places to spend...
