Upon discovering that this newly opened café in Backlick Shopping Center, Springfield, had garnered positive reviews, we decided to visit for breakfast and were quite pleased with our experience.

The café is deeper within the shopping center and boasts a clean, inviting ambiance with thoughtfully arranged seating areas. As we entered, we were greeted by the lovely aroma of freshly baked pastries. We sampled an almond croissant, which was enjoyable. It was generously filled with almond paste and paired beautifully with a caffe latte and a cold brew topped with creamy pistachio foam.

For our main dishes, we enjoyed the Eggs Benedict Florentine, featuring perfectly poached eggs alongside a blend of mushrooms and spinach. It was accompanied by freshly stir-fried potatoes, making for a warm and satisfying breakfast. The Cortado Sandwich, filled with their signature tuna salad on perfectly toasted ciabatta bread, offered a pleasant crunch. We appreciated the well-balanced seasoning that enhanced the flavors without being overpowering.

We chose the Tiramisu crepe filled with coffee-flavored mascarpone cream to conclude our meal. It proved to be a pleasantly sweet treat reminiscent of the renowned Lady M cake.

For those looking for a place to work remotely, there are lots of tables AND electric outlets at every table! The owners actually encourage people to come in and linger, even if you’re working away on your laptop.

I appreciate that this place serves food and drinks on ceramic or glass plates or drinkware, and metal cutlery — when dining in —because it feels more elevated for a counter-service establishment and less wasteful.

My husband ordered a chicken avocado panini that came with a side salad of his choice (I believe the options were either a house salad or Caesar), and I got an avocado quinoa salad that was beautifully vibrant visually and in taste. Both were delicious and we look forward to trying more! They have an all-day breakfast menu, too!

My husband enjoyed his decaf double espresso, and I had a delicious pumpkin chai latte.

I found this when searching for chai latte on google reviews. It’s not easy to find a place with good chai tea! It was well balanced with a good spice level. Also tried the Norwegian Crepe which was delic! The crepe was the perfect texture, eggy and had the right amount of chew. The filling was very uniform and perfectly balanced with the crepe. The salad on top was also a perfect compliment. So happy to have found this new place! Lots of people were there on a weekday morning having breakfast and working.

Accessibility: Shopping center is handicap accessible though the cafe door itself is not. The tables are a good height for wheelchairs.

Dietary Restrictions: Lots of food and drink options, but not sure if people with dietary restrictions beyond type of proteins they eat will find what they need. However, the staff is friendly and they seem accommodating if you have questions and need some customization.
