finally got to try ugly dumplings, wife and I been waiting and decided to stop by 7/24/24 the places look nice and tons of new workers guessing everyone is there since it’s just opened and everyone is technically still in training, the restaurant design had warm tone to it, ugly dumplings is like a fast food asian food that offer “dumplings” and other things like milk teas. we ordered couple things including cucumber. pork/crab dumplings. and I forgot what it’s called but it’s like spicy dumplings. and shrimp fried rice, the dumplings i’d say is very bland I couldn’t get much taste from it, the soy sauce with vinegar was strong, same thing with the spicy dumplings was just ok. I feel like something is still missing when it comes to flavoring, cucumber was ok not bad but wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. honestly the only thing we really enjoy was the shrimp fried rice now that’s good id go back and order that again. good amount of shrimp it offer and. but the dumplings honestly ill prob give it another try again since we live closer but I doubt the taste will change but ill try again and maybe just order the pork dumplings see how that taste.
overall experience was good clean place, ok food I think if you don’t have an option and just want a quick dumpling cravings you can stop by and grab from ugly dumplings but I wouldn’t compare these to other dumplings restaurant that cost a bit more. great start glad springfield actually got another decent restaurant...
Read more20240809 The menu looked really good with pre-Bidenomic prices. We ordered ... 1- spicy wontons were good and meaty but not spicy at all. I ended up dipping my other food in the spicy wonton sauce. An order came with 8 wontons. 2- Braised beef noodles soup was ok reminded me of instant noodles with tiny chunks of tendered beef with a bay leaf and licorice. Not worth the price. 3- BBQ pork bun was ok and could use a little more flavor. Spicy wonton sauce made it taste better. An order contains 3 buns. 4- pork/crab and just pork soup dumplings, which was good, but I had better. It has a nice amount of soup on the dumplings, and it's better to put the whole dumpling in your mouth, if you can, to avoid losing the soup as you bite into it. Just don't get burnt if the dumplings are hot.
The service was excellent. The employees were very helpful and polite.
Overall, food is cheap especially for Biden's prices! But unfortunately the quality/taste of the food was compromised by the lower prices? We don't plan on coming back.
I drank a lot of water with my meal and found myself pretty thirsty. Not sure what was in the food that made...
Read moreHEALTH ALERT! Young cockroaches in food. Please do not eat here until they have gone through the process with the county of disposing of food, cleaning, and being inspected again. [Pictures attached.]
We ordered here for the first time on 7/20/2024. About 3/4 of the way into eating my food, I leaned over to take another bite and noticed a dead cockroach right where I'd scooped my orange chicken/rice onto my plate. My husband then realized the crunchy bit he'd felt was off in his mouth and spit out was also a small cockroach. Based on the size of these roaches, they are not just a stray that wandered in from the street; they are living in the food and both eggs and other roaches have likely been in the food for the duration of the time they've been open. The restaurant appears clean and does not give the impression that there would be an issue on the surface so please do not be fooled.
The front of house staff member that we interacted with was very nice and clearly just as concerned as us. They gave us a full refund but as this is a health concern, service does not override the bad review and need for the...
