If I could give a 0 I totally would. But had top she's my experience. This use to be my place a few years back but now it's even worst than what horrible food would look, taste & smell like. I took my husband there raving about how good this place is along with my 18 month old who loves mild cuisines like Afghan food, but I was embarrassed to have taken my family there. Honestly, I've never had such a disappointing meal from any other place, not even when I would accidentally burn an omelette in attempt to remain sane with my 1 year old toddler. lol. The food tasted old, rotten, burnt & just stale. Definitely was done days old. The ride were burnt & chickpeas rotten & the kabobs had an extremely unbearable odor & the bread was undercooked. The drinks were in a refrigerator that wasn't keeping them cool rather room temperature, that too in the summer. Not to mention the size of our plate was sooooo little compared to other Afghan restaurants. And the tables weren't clean either. The cashier or could have been the owner came sat right behind us & was talking on his phone so loud. No customer care at all. The was hardly any utensils in the containers & they loved used. Also, Well, I hope you get the point. And since there are better Afghan restaurant options available elsewhere, I would try & avoid this place; even if it means to grab a quick 7-11 snack from right next door I would probably go with that option. lol. Anyways, I hope this was...

Read moreOh boy, where do I start with VA Kabob House? This place hit the spot when our tummies were rumbling and we were on the hunt for something quick and reasonably priced. But here's the thing, their sign outside raves about charcoal grilling, and yet I didn't spot or sniff any charcoal. Sneaky, right? They do have a gas grill going behind the counter, and I have to give them credit, their kabobs had that tasty fire-cooked vibe.
Now let's talk about the kabobs. They were hot and juicy, just the way you want 'em. But man, I wish they'd left the lamb on the grill a bit longer. I've got a pretty high tolerance for that gamey lamb smell, but even for me, it was a bit much. I reckon a little more sumac could've balanced it out.
The chicken kabobs though? Lip-smacking good. But here's a tiny nitpick - the rice. I mean, I get it, carrots add a pop of color and a hint of sweetness, but it felt like the rice was having a carrot party. The sweetness was kinda overpowering.
All in all, VA Kabob House is a decent spot to grab a quick bite. I mean, could it be better? Yeah, sure. But for what it's worth, it's...
