We ended up here after people recommended this location on Facebook… I wish we would have stayed away. As soon as we walked in we were approached by an employee and multiple other employees staring, I get it they work commition I’m sure so they’re like vultures waiting for their pray. Employee was nice, we told her we were looking for a couch and we’d let her know if we found one, we looked for a bit employee circled around asking if we had questions which we didn’t. Once we found something we liked we went and got her and told her we found a couch and an ottoman we’d like to purchase. Once we started the paperwork I was asked if I wanted to see if I qualified for “bobs way to pay” I told her no we would be paying upfront for everything, she asked again and I said no thank you. As employee walked away to go get something for the paperwork one of the managers approached me, was friendly but asked about me seeing if I qualified for “bobs way to pay” I again said I was not interested, he kept pushing it insisting it wouldn’t affect my credit at all and the no interest payments would be nice blah blah. I finally said ok, but asked multiple times if it was going to affect my credit and was told multiple times it would not at all. So I qualified for “bobs way to pay” cool I ask AGAIN if it will affect my credit where I am told again it will not. We sign paperwork schedule delivery and go about our day. I will add while we were doing our paperwork another customer walked in and another employee was helping him… the employee who had been helping us the whole time yelled across the room to the other customer “ oh I was helping you earlier, why didn’t you ask for me??” And proceeds to get huffy and puffy and roll her eyes visibly irritated the other customer was being helped by someone else.
Fast forward to delivery, we live on a military base where you are required to have base access to get on base, there was some confusion and my husband had to meet them at the gate. They get to the house assemble couch and ottoman and all is well. The next day my 45 lb son sits on the ottoman and it brakes, not the leg, the actual foundation inside. Thankfully I purchased the warranty so I call to see how we go about getting it fixed and what not. I’m told a technician has to come out and “assess the damage”. So we schedule apt for that, let them know they need special access to get on post she says no problem.
Next thing I know I get a notification from credit karma that a “hard inquiry” has been added to my credit report and a new “charge card” has been reported for my account as well. So I look into it and low and behold the hard inquiry if from bobs furniture and the charge card is a card for bobs furniture thru Wells Fargo with a balance of $7400… our couch was $1700. This is absolutely ridiculous, I asked multiple times if it was going to impact my credit and was told by not one but two employees it would not. Fast forward to the technician coming out to assess the broken ottoman, he could not get into base with out my husband meeting him at the gate which was extremely inconvenient and when he got here he was rushing because he was running late, confirmed the ottoman could not be fixed and would need to be replaced… he calls customer service lets them know his info and that it needs to be replaced then hands off the phone to me to figure out what to do next and he leaves. Customer service tells me we can receive store credit for the ottoman which we can use within 30 days or it disappears. We tell her we just want to replace the matching ottoman we literally just bought and she tells us we can’t get the same ottoman because it’s benn discontinued…. What?! We had it for not even a month and there were no signs at the store about it being discontinued… We’re then told we need to schedule a time for a delivery driver to come pick up the broken ottoman, ridiculous. I will never go back there and am disgusted I’m stuck paying for this damn couch and...
Read moreWhen we walked in, Mr. Allen greeted me right away with a polite and sincere introduction. Unlike the typical scripted greetings at other stores, his felt genuine. As I explored the store, he checked in from time to time—always with perfect timing and distance. He never made us feel pressured. His approach was respectful and well-balanced. Each time, he shared a couple of helpful features about the furniture we were looking at, then let us continue browsing, reminding us to let him know if we had any questions.
I’m a very picky shopper. I like to take time, compare details, and understand value before making a purchase. Somehow, Mr. Allen seemed to recognize that. He never pushed or exaggerated. Instead, he asked thoughtful questions about how we’d use the furniture and whether it would truly suit our needs. He gave us honest insights and helped guide us to the best choice.
Mr. Allen remained incredibly patient. We spent a long time going back and forth between options, but he never rushed us or showed any frustration. In the end, we bought a bedroom set—even though we had originally just planned to browse. Thanks to Mr. Allen’s help, we walked out with the perfect guest room furniture set, fully satisfied.
Because the experience was so positive, I returned to the store within two weeks to check out mattresses. Another employee greeted me, but I asked for Mr. Allen—and he remembered me! He even asked how the delivery went, which really impressed me.
Once again, I took my time trying out different mattresses. Mr. Allen made sure I was comfortable, placing fresh disposable covers on pillows each time. He explained why buying a mattress protector was a good idea, and even demonstrated how the cover was both waterproof and breathable, which made me feel confident in the purchase.
He struck the perfect balance. He was never pushy, but never left me feeling unattended either.
At one point, I casually mentioned needing a small dining set for occasional use in the basement. Without hesitation, Mr. Allen guided me straight to a perfect option. He never had to stop and check—he seemed to know the entire inventory like the back of his hand, which saved me a lot of time. I also asked about side tables, and again, he pointed me directly to what I needed. I ended up buying several more items, including protection plans.
I’m not someone who makes unnecessary purchases, and I value sincerity and respectful communication. Even if something is a good deal, I won’t buy it if the experience doesn’t feel right. A good deal is easy to find—but good service is rare.
I live about an hour from this store and have two Bob’s locations closer to home. But I came back to this one—and to Mr. Allen—because I wanted to buy from someone who truly earned it. And Mr. Allen did.
I’ll absolutely return to him the next time I need furniture. I also want to mention Ms. Anaka, the assistant manager, who was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and helpful. I truly appreciated them both.
As I’m writing this, I realize Mr. Allen did something special: he gave the right information at the right time, helped me compare options, and guided me to the best decisions without ever being pushy or inattentive. If the store or regional manager is reading this, I sincerely hope you recognize Mr. Allen’s hard work. I would not have made the trip—or the purchase—if it weren’t for him. And I’ll gladly return...
