To start off I have been to Bolivia a few times now and by no means does the name of this restaurant (Sabor Boliviano) represent the flavor of Bolivia. They didn’t have half the items on their Menu and when I asked when they would because I would like to try them they just said on the weekend. I decided to try typical of Bolivia the Saltenas and the Beef Saltena was very dry and tasted like it hadn’t been made that day. After going through half their menu of most the stuff they didn’t have I decided on the pique macho and wasn’t at all impressed, it wasn’t cooked traditional with beer or sauce and the vegetables weren’t cooked. My wife tried their Charque and it just tasted like straight lemon when traditionally it doesn’t have a lemon flavor at all. The icing on the cake of my horrible experience was the service. The waitress never checked on us asked if we needed anything or how was the food and when we finally got the check what she handed me made my jaw drop. The check she had already charged me apart gratuity of 15% and that’s separate from the tip and when I asked her about it she responded that was normal for the restaurant that they charge you for eating in at the table and the service to which I responded I have never seen in my life and I was born here and the waitress stormed off after I asked to speak to the manager because she wanted to charge for the service... It ended with her getting mad and as I was writing in a tip she told me not to leave her anything and throwing the receipt on the table... worst experience/service I have had in my life and the food definitely wasn’t a good...

My favorite day to visit is Sunday, and my go-to order is the Pastel con Api. The pastel is a lightly fried empanada-style dough filled with melty cheese and dusted with powdered sugar….absolute perfection. It’s paired with Api, a warm, sweet purple drink made from corn (I think it’s red or purple corn), and it hits every nostalgic note.
I also highly recommend the Sopa de Kawi, a hearty bone broth soup that comes with soft rice, a large potato, chicken leg, and I think a long short rib. It’s so delicious and packed with flavor. It’s comforting and honestly the best hangover cure after a fun night out.
To drink, I always get the Bolivian lemonade – I have no idea what it’s made of exactly, but it’s so refreshing and uniquely delicious.
This is hands-down my favorite place to eat on Sundays. Do yourself a favor and check it out, your taste buds will thank you & you’ll definitely feel like taking a...
Read moreI visited Mi Sabor Boliviano today, it’s been a while since we had their food. I was extremely disappointed with the service and food. The customer service was terrible, specifically the cashier lady. I’m not sure her name but she has painted on eyebrows, and is kind of heavy set maybe blonde brown hair and not Bolivian. She was extremely careless and rude. She was being super difficult in assisting my sister and I today. I hope they let her go I’m sure their is plenty of people who can do a better job than her. I was hoping the food would make up for the service, unfortunately that wasn’t the case. My heart was set on good Bolivian food today instead I got watered down sopa de mani no flavor what so ever, my Bolivian mother spit it out the second she tried it. The Silpancho and Falso meat was hard and chewy and flavorless, you could tell the food is days old and re-microwaved. I haven’t tried my salteña yet and I’m not really sure if I want to. I will not be returning. My recommendation are if you want to remain open please make changes. The food use to be really...
