Please ensure you tell the cashier, out loud, how much you are handing him/her when paying for your food. Otherwise, you will get short changed and this store doesn't attempt to determine if they really did provide you with the correct change. Talking with the manager will not help because they will lie to your face. I spoke to the manager very calmly and rationally. She became flustered and her story kept changing every time she tried to make an excuse. It's not just about the money, it is about the principle.
My total came to $3.49 and I handed over $10.49 at the drive thru window. I received $1.00 back. Even if I handed over $5.49, I should have received $2.00 back. I parked my car, went inside, and spoke with the manager. I explained that I did not receive accurate change back. She wrote down that she owed me $5.00 but I said, no, you owe me $7.00. So she reached into the back somewhere and brought over another $1.00. I said no, I handed over $10.49 so I should have received $7.00 back. She insisted that I was incorrect. If I had handed her $5.00 as she insisted, I should have received $1.51 back, in theory. They were very busy so I offered that she could take my contact info and call me after she did her countdown that night so she could deal with it then. She asked me how late was too late to call and I told her to call any time. She said she would do that but I did not hear from her that night, or any other night. I called five days later and spoke with her again. She told me that her till came out exactly right and there was no short change.
If she was correct and I gave her $5.00, then her window till should have been over by $0.51 because she gave me $1.00 in change that day from that till, and a different till should have been short by $1.00 because of what she gave me when I was in the store. I have worked in the food service industry for 7 years and would have never lost a customer over $5.00. When I called her bluff, she changed her story and said she took money from another till to cover the $1.00 that she gave me. I'm confused, the drive thru till was the one that had the imbalance, so why did the $1.00 from a different location affect that till?
As I said, this is an issue of principle and I am extremely disappointed in this store. I will NOT be coming to this store again and I will let my family, friends, and colleagues know about the issue. I have suspected that I have previously been short changed by this store but this was the only time I could be 100% certain. I only had two bills in my purse that day, a $20 and a $10. There was no $5 bill anywhere...
Read moreLove my Chick-Fil-a!!!! This location can be challenging given the way the drive through is and how it blocks traffic in the parking lot but that is not the restaurant’s fault. I have 4 stars based on this but I give the food 5 stars. The staff here is very nice and accommodating and even with the pandemic they try to make things go smooth. Ever since they started taking orders w the iPads in the line it has made things go much smoother, if you have placed a mobile order they check you in on it and through the line you go. I like placing mobile to go orders as it makes things go much faster. This location was also bringing your order to you at the front door when the restaurant was closed to inside eating. I love both the regular and spicy chicken sandwiches and the waffle fries are the Bomb. The new Mac and cheese is also fantastic and I don’t know what they do to make the lemonade so good but I really like the diet one because it seems more sour to me which I love. All of their coffee drinks are also a good I highly recommend this chick fil a with their great customer service and good food. This location is so much easier to go to than the Woodbridge one even given the parking lot and drive through The Woodbridge one is a nightmare to go through the drive through especially at night with that crazy double loop and then they have u split off after you place your order depending on if you placed an order there or did a mobile order. I guess it’s worth it given how much I like the food. It is definitely my favorite fast food restaurant. I actually lived in Montgomery Alabama in the early 80’s when chick fil a first started in Alabama and my love for it started then. I have never had a bad meal there and with the app now and how you get points which you can then use to buy food on future orders it’s great. The ease of ordering on it and that you can use PayPal also is a bonus, you place your order and then when you get close( that’s what I do anyway) you tell them you are there and they start putting your order together. You can go in the restaurant to get it or if you choose the drive through option you get in the line and tell them your name and then they start the order which you get at the window. The really make it easy and my son and I go so often that I always have points to spend. It’s a great system and i...
Read moreI understand that you HATE late night customers.... but if you are open til 10 p.m. and you take orders until then you should be able to accommodate the orders placed! If not then change the policy and stop taking orders at the location or on mobile options! Wait to clean kitchen til 10:00 p.m when you are closed and no more orders can be taken!!
The order was placed on a mobile app before 10 p.m for drive thur pick up, and when I arrived the store in drive thur it was 9:45 p.m., long line of cars in both lanes. The young man outside taking orders was talking with another associate and walked past my vehicle in line and helped the car behind me.... so my order didn't get checked in. I waved him down and said you didn't check me in, he asked for name, didn't see it I showed him on app, and he said my Ipad isn't working walked inside, came out gave me a thumbs up, and pointed to continue to the drive up window. Then stayed in drive thur line for another 10 mins. At this point it is past closing 10:15 ish. At the window female associate aka "mgr" states they can't locate the order and sorry we don't have your food, you account will be credited. Really!!!! Because I chose to not take that as an option.... needed food, home was without power due to storm taking out a transformer, I complained- stood firm .... aka pulled out the internal "KAREN". They magically found some food they could offer me, that was already prepared and not spoken for in other orders to complete.... cars still behind me in drive thur. Which I was grateful for, and did pay, but I am unsure if the transaction went through because I didn't get a receipt. It was cold and not fresh, but at least we had food to eat!
Again I completely get you want to go home! Stop taking new orders after 9:30...so you can accommodate your customers orders clean and leave at 10!
My kid worked for Chick-fil-A in TX for 2 yrs, so I know that things are different then how I experienced them tonight! That you can take care of customers until the hour you close, then clean and leave.
Chick -Fil-A due better .... especially this location in Springfield! Have had food quality issues on...
