I’m not even sure where to start. I’ve always loved Freddy’s—it holds a special place in my heart because I have fond memories of going there on dates with my mom before she passed away. Unfortunately, I just had the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant, and it’s left me deeply frustrated and disappointed.
When we arrived, there were four people in line ahead of us, but no one was at the register to take orders. After a while, someone finally came over, but there was no apology for the wait. After ordering, I went to get our drinks, only to find that both the root beer and lemonade were out. No big deal—I figured I’d just let someone know. I went to the counter and stood there for about five minutes while at least three employees saw me standing there and didn’t acknowledge me. Eventually, what seemed to be the manager walked by, made eye contact with me, and then told the kitchen staff something unrelated about an order. She completely ignored me and went to the register, still not acknowledging me. Finally, a younger employee asked if I needed anything. I told him about the root beer and lemonade being out, and only then did the manager chime in, saying that the root beer couldn’t be changed because of a broken solenoid (I get it—things like that happen). However, she said, in an annoyed tone, that they could change the lemonade.
I went back to my table to tell my 3-year-old we’d have to wait for the lemonade to be fixed. We sat down to eat, but 5–10 minutes passed, and nothing was done. It was clear we weren’t a priority. I went back up to the counter and told another employee that the lemonade was still out. She said someone should be changing it, so I sat back down, already feeling frustrated.
Then came the worst part. My wife took a bite of her California-style burger, and a long black hair came out with it. I understand that mistakes happen—things like this can occur. All I wanted was for them to apologize, fix it, and make things right. Instead, I went back to the counter (lemonade still not changed) and showed the hair to the same young employee. He chuckled, asked what kind of burger it was, and said they’d remake it. None of the three employees at the counter showed any empathy or concern. Not one apology from anyone. They remade the burger, but I had to specifically ask for the fries that came with it because they didn’t include them. Both the employee and the cooks seemed annoyed with me, but they gave me the fries.
At this point, I figured I’d finally get my kids some lemonade. But no—it still hadn’t been changed. For the third time, I asked someone about it, and they said, “Uh, it should be getting changed.” By this point, the manager had already left, soda in hand, leaving the issue unresolved. My kids were excited to get ice cream, but after such awful service, we weren’t about to spend another dime there. We ended up going to Andy’s instead.
I’m heartbroken to say that we won’t be coming back to this Freddy’s. It’s devastating because of the memories I have tied to this place, but the lack of care, empathy, and basic service was unacceptable. I’ve never been so disappointed in a...
Read moreUPDATED with better rating My husband and I tried this location again and we were so happy with the improvement in all areas. There was an entirely different staff from last time and they were very friendly, fast, and efficient. The store was clean and the trash wasn't overflowing. The employees all looked busy keeping the place running smoothly. I'm so glad to see it return to the great place we always enjoyed.
My husband and I have visited this place a lot and love Freddie's. Unfortunately, this particular one has gone downhill. First thing I noticed was the greasy floors. It is a very big fall hazard. The young man who took our order looked like his hair was greasy and he did not have on a hairnet or a hat. His shirt was also very dirty. There was only one other couple in the building as customers when we arrived and at least five employees were seen. Only a group of four came in after us. None of the boots had been wiped down and many of the tables look dirty as well. The first table we chose was actually broken. When our order came out we didn't notice it at first because no one called our number. My husband had to go up to the counter and ask if it was our food. When we did get our food my husband's concrete was not mixed very well (see photo). I worked at a similar place before and know what it takes so I know that this can be done and is not the standard. I saw one young woman that seemed to be doing as much as possible but seemed to be very unhappy about having to do all the work and I don't blame her. The boys club in the back didn't seem to care about the customers or the state of the place. I'm very sad one of our favorite restaurants had declined...
Read moreWhat a great experience! The restaurant was immaculate, as was the restrooms. The food was outstanding! I enjoyed THREE burgers - two of the classic burgers and one of the triple stack steak burgers. I also enjoyed their fries and turtle-pecan concrete. Yes, I was a pig today, but occasionally I have to enjoy myself! My wife enjoyed a patty melt, onion rings, and a chocolate shake.
All of the food we ordered was top-notch. I like smash burgers, and these were fixed perfectly. The patties were thin, moist, and juicy with that delicious crispy crust that a perfect smash burger possesses. The shoestring fries were crisp with excellent, hot, moist centers. My wife’s onion rings were fantastic, as was her patty melt.
The frozen custard had a delicious flavor, making my concrete and her shake into fabulous treats.
The even more excellent staff accompanied the superb food. Amber took our order with a huge smile. She made us feel at home and was so helpful with our ordering process. I had failed to hear our number announced when the frozen custard items were ready. A friendly gentleman named Caiden brought them to our table. He was very kind, and we appreciated his graciousness.
This was our first visit to this Freddy’s location. We like to eat at Freddy’s and was particularly impressed with our visit here. We’ll definitely be returning here...
