We were excited to finally try Golden Hour Bake House after hearing good things and seeing their charming sidewalk advertisements. Unfortunately, our visit turned out to be one of the worst customer service experiences we've had in a very long time.
When we arrived, we tried to order some pastries only to be told, quite abruptly, that they were out. Disappointing, but we moved on and tried to order the banana toast that was prominently advertised on their board right outside. The blonde staff member responded with, âWe donât have toast, only bagels, and I donât know how that would work?ââwhich left us confused, especially since it was their own signage promoting it.
We decided to just get drinks instead and paid. While we waited, the other staff member walked outside and removed the advertisement board. Meanwhile, both employees kept glancing over at us and giving odd looks. It was so noticeable that even my two younger kids picked up on it and felt uncomfortable before I didâwhich says a lot.
When our drinks were ready, there was no warmth or friendlinessâjust a flat, âHereâs the drinks,â as they placed them on the counter and walked away. As we left, both workers leaned against the counter and watched us exit through the window. The blonde worker even gave my daughter a dirty look as she politely smiled and said, âThank you.â
What started as an exciting visit turned into an uncomfortable, unpleasant experience that left my children uneasy enough that we ended up canceling our tickets for the ceramic painting class scheduled later that dayâsomething they had been looking forward to.

Read moreWas excited to stop in this week and eat here. Wasnât too bad, but not sure I would stop in again. Got a couple of breakfast sandwiches, they were good size and got out to us in about 15 minutes despite the line being out the door. The only downsides were the sourdough I paid extra for seemed more like white bread than a sourdough, and there was something green on my plate, I assume it was a pesto or guacamole or something, but it was also on my bread, so I didnât eat that part. It appeared almost as if it was on the slice on bread and it got used anyways, or there was something green on my plate and the bread was thrown on top, it wasnât added as a sauce or anything, just seemed to be there by accident. Other issue was more our fault, we assumed the eggs would be scrambled, but they were fried. We should have asked. Clean place, friendly...
Read moreChecked out this place for the first time today as a girls brunch. Immediately on walking in, the space felt so bright, warm, and welcoming. We came in around 11 and while it was a little bit busy, we really did not wait long at all to order. All of the pastries were available, and the menu had a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items: toasts, pastries (cookies, donuts, muffins, scones, etc), bowls, hashes, and breakfast sandwiches.
Even though they were busy we still were welcomed and received our food in a reasonable amount of time. It was EXCELLENT. The Lulu sandwich was delicious and came out hot and fresh. The coffees were just the right amount of sweetness. Absolutely will be back and with my young son this time. Great inclusive environment with gluten free and vegetarian...
