Virginia State Law, code 59.1-297: Right of cancellation. This defines your right to cancel any Health Club contract within 3 days after purchase. You must give written notice of cancellation to the seller at the address stated in the agreement or offer to purchase. Anytime Fitness must comply with VA state law and Buyerâs Cancellation Terms, which is why I was able to get out of the contract at $0. When I told the manager this, he said he would cancel for $0 because I âmisheardâ his staff, which he did again in his response here. Yikes.
**Staff will advertise membership as $29.99 a month and itâs $29.99 bi-weekly. This comes out to 26 transactions instead of 12. Thatâs a difference of $359. 88/ year and $779.74/ year. Staff will advertise a cancellation fee of $50.00 when itâs $250.00 for any 12 or 24 month contract, both of which are the only sign on options. Staff remained honest about the $1.00 sign on fee and yearly enhancement fee due in April or October. The gym/ equipment is nice, however not worth $59.99-$89.99/ month, which is what the biweekly cost comes to. When I met with the manager, Jay, in person to comply with the written cancellation request of my membership (make sure to read the terms under Buyerâs Right to Cancel within three business days), he was extremely unprofessional. My goal is to increase awareness and hold staff accountable when assisting members in the future. I would recommend Onelife...
Read moreLove this gym. It has your normal gym equipment. A pretty big weights area, big enough for everyone to have their own spot to workout in. Only thing I would suggest is maybe a few more machines for isolation exercises.
The staff are courteous and friendly. They always greet you when you see them. There is a new coach, Randi who started recently. She was super helpful when I needed assistance and validation with my deadlifts. She was nice enough to stop her task and walk over with me to explain the process and validate everything I was doing. This is ESPECIALLY important as women are typically more flexible than men and I want to make sure I perform a wrong move that can delay my progress. Thank you Randi! Her husband Renzo is also super friendly. You can definitely tell the staff try to take care of the facility and...
Read moreHad a workout session to see if it was right for me. PROS: 24 Hours. Up to 100 lbs. dumbells. Massage chair. Advice.
CONS: Tiny gym. No barbell benches for regular, incline, decline bench presses. No D ring stirrups or single rope attachments for cables. Limited amount of rubberized grip plate weights. Could use more machines, cardiovascular equipment; I can only imagine there would be long waits for equipment at busy hours. Better than planet fitness only for the fact that they have heavier dumbells (100 lbs. vs 50-60 lbs.) Other than that, PF has more equipment and is a lot roomier. Not that I'm a huge fan of PF. That place is not for me either that's why I tried this.
Conclusion: Not for me. Guess I'll keep looking. đ Good gym if you're not looking for much. Serious lifters...
