My husband, two kids, and myself all went to rec house for the first time last night excited to see. The place has such a different concept than anything else in downtown St. Charles and what a perfect idea. My three-year-old could not contain his excitement. He loves Chuck E. Cheese so I thought maybe this wouldn’t be as fun for him but that is so not the case. Soooo many game options I’m shocked how much they fit in there. They even have little things for toddlers to play with that my two year old loved. The young employees were incredibly sweet and super helpful. One of the employees young brothers was there and he was showing my kid around and he has not stopped talking about Stetson storm(i might be wrong on the name) and rec house!! My husband owns jarvis exteriors a couple businesses down so we will come in all the time! Cant wait for food to be available and the claw machines to be filled. They did an awesome job with this place and also what a fun place to hold an event one day!

Update: returned for opening night and all the soft opening bumps in the road were fixed. Highly recommended!! Such a fun concept with good food, good drinks and vibes. New activity and game bar in downtown St. Charles. Attended a soft opening to check everything out. Food: small handhelds and bar bites, nothing large enough to have dinner. Flatbreads and small sandwiches. Drinks: they have a full bar and self pour beer wall Ambiance: the whole place has seating and games throughout. Pinball, Pac-Man, Skeeball, Bocce ball, etc. Super cool concept. Service: overall good, they were still working out some kinks with food ordering but everyone was super nice. Can't wait to see the grand opening!

Such a fun place in St. Charles! Has snacks, all the drinks you could want, and games for all ages. Loooved the beer wall where you can choose what you want and pour yourself! Such a cool concept!! Staff super friendly and helpful. Family friendly during the day and adults only at night. So lucky to live so close!!

This is such a fun concept — a great place for both adults and kids to enjoy together! The arcade games were easy to navigate and a lot of fun. I’m sharing this feedback with love and respect because I know how hard it is to open a new business, and I really want this place to stick around for a long time.

When we first walked in, it would have been great to have someone greet us and give a quick rundown on how things work — like getting game cards, using the beer wall, or ordering food. I know it was busy with the Bears game, but it was a little hard to tell who worked there if we had questions.

The food ordering process could use some tweaking — maybe using ticket numbers or having a runner bring food to tables would help. I ordered a flatbread and pretzel bites (both were delicious!), but there was some confusion with the pickup texts. I first got a message that my order was ready, but when I went to the counter, it hadn’t even been started yet. Later, when it really was ready and I got a second text, someone else had accidentally taken my food. It also wasn’t very clear where to grab drink cups, and tables took quite a while to be cleared — about 30 minutes or so.

That said, I think this place has a lot of potential! The concept, food, and games are great — they just need a few operational tweaks to make the experience smoother. I’m really rooting for them and hope they work out the kinks soon so people keep...

Went to check this place out, my friends and I love spending time in St Charles and are regulars to the area. We were excited to see what this place was about. Off the bat I will say the prices of games are outrageous, I mean you are out of your depth to be charging people $6 an hour per person for pool. You can go across the street to a bar and put $1 in and play with as many people as you like. Same goes with Bags. We are in the Midwest, to charge people per hour/person for a game that is free at any other Midwest bar is enough of a reason for me not to go back. We played darts as well, you need to get better quality darts. They fell apart as soon as we started our game. My friend order fries and they were undercooked as well. The only redeeming quality is the beer wall, it was fun to try all of the different beers at my...
