Not only possibly the best pizza I have ever had, but one of the best meals I’ve ever had…PERIOD!! I was in St. Louis for work and I wanted to try something St. Louis specific and by chance I found IMO’s Pizza, but I am soooo happy that I did! From the moment I walked in I was was warmly greeted, I ordered the Deluxe (and added hamburger), while waiting for my order either the manager or owner sparked up a convo with me and I told him I was from out of town, he told me that out of towners usually are torn about whether or not they like this St. Louis Staple, but I could tell he was genuinely excited for me to try it. I loved how everyone was so stoked about me trying it (I even heard the guys in the back making/cooking it say “oh he’s gonna love this”)! I got my pizza to go, but the smell through the box told me what my taste buds would eventually verify! On my way back to my hotel even my Uber driver raved about how amazing their pizzas are. I got to the hotel took a bite and immediately my trip to St. Louis was justified! I would literally come back to St. Louis just to get this pizza again! It is absolutely mouthwateringly delicious! The sauce that they use on the pizza is something special all of its own! The pizza is on the thin crust side (not too thin, but thin enough) and it’s perfect! The toppings were fresh and perfectly stacked! I ended up ordering another one before I left! If you’re in St. Louis check this location of IMO’s Pizza out!!!!

Not the best pizza, but definitely the better option for my time in St. Louis. At the time, I did not realize that St. Louis style pizza was a thing and if I had not had other pizza in the area I would rate lower. But they added something other than provel (there was still provel cheese) that gave the pizza a little tang and regular cheese texture. Got the cheesy garlic toast as well. It looked pretty unremarkable, but the provel in that use worked as a kind of link from bread to garlic butter and made it tase more creamy in a good way. Cracker thin crust, provel and some other cheese, and pepperoni. Service was a little weird. The gentleman taking orders in the tucked in black shirt left to address something before taking my order (no issue here). But when he stepped away, a thin guy from the back wearing a red shirt came up to the register, put his hands on the counter, leaned over, and then leered at me over the register. I wasn't sure what to do so I tried to start ordering but he didn't move or speak. Then the black shirt guy came back, hip checked the red shirt guy away and used his arm to guide him back to the cooking area. That was a little off putting. A bit of a walk from the hotel I was at, but if you go in a group during the day you should be fine.

I’ve been wanting to try St. Louis Style pizza, and when my girlfriend and I were in St. Louis for the weekend - a visit to Imo’s was a must-do. The place was not too big, and close to the stadium. Walked right up and placed my order; medium pepperoni and extra cheese. So, when I asked for “extra cheese” I really wanted to get a good taste of the provel. The staff were friendly and patient with us… The pizza arrived in 10-15 minutes. I didn’t see the pepperoni, but then found it buried under the cheese. That meant the pepperoni wouldn’t get crispy and delicious, so I was disappointed with that. The crust was fantastic! The sauce, delicious and slightly sweeter. I don’t like the pizza cut into squares, the middle pieces are harder to eat without a mess… but, ok. I can live with that. Then, the cheese. I had never had provel before, and I loved it! But maybe a little less next time. It’s too rich for pizza, I think but I’m sure St. Louis natives are going to fight me over that - and I wouldn’t blame them. No beer or wine available, which is why they got 4 stars instead of 5. I always have beer with pizza. ❤️ I’ll try them again next time I am up there. Less cheese, lots of toppings. I will try a specialty next time. But I will go back!
