LeGrand's Market and Catering — Restaurant in St. Louis

This neighborhood grocery store/deli/butcher/bakery is the home to the best deli sandwich I've ever had: The Legend Club. It's their most popular sandwich for a reason and has a combination of flavors that can't be found anywhere else...Salsalito Turkey, Pastrami, Pepperoni, Bacon, Hot Pepper Cheese, Havarti, Garlic Cream Cheese, Roasted Red Pepper Sauce. Yes, GARLIC CREAM CHEESE! I've tried other sandwiches from Legrand's (they have about 30 different choices) and they were good too, but nothing compares to the legend club IMHO. All the homemade sides they offer (a few kinds of potato salad and pasta salad) are excellent as well. In addition to the sandwiches, if I ever want to buy a quality steak and have it cut however I want, at a price cheaper than the local grocery stores, Legrand's is where I go for that as well. Their staff consists of mostly high school aged kids and an older guy who seems to be running the show (owner maybe?), they provide an old school "yes sir. of course we can do that" type of service that you can't find many places any more. They also have a bakery which makes an excellent gooey butter cake (the only bakery thing I've tried there). Last but not least you, can buy cold single bottles of beer to drink with your wonderful sandwich. As far as pricing goes, it's cheaper than all the other deli's of lesser quality...Legend Club, 20oz bottle of cherry coke, and a bag of chips=...

Le Grand's Market & Catering is simply one of the best places in town to grab a sandwich.Think small market place with a large sandwich counter. With over 40 different kind of sandwiches on the menu it can be a bit overwhelming. However there are convenient paper menus on hand to browse while you wait in line.At any given time there are about 5 people constructing these delicious pieces of art so the line moves quite quickly.We are veterans of this place so we decided to do a sandwich taste off of two of our favorite choices. The number one seller:- Legend Club, Salsalito Turkey,Pastrami,pepperoni,Bacon,Hot Pepper Cheese,Havarti,Garlic Cream Cheese,Roasted Red Pepper Sauce & The Mc Gwire Special, Ham,Roast Beef,Salami,Cheddar,Provel,Lettuce Tomato, pickle, onion,Horseradish Sauce. Now the Mc Gwire has been a favorite of ours quite some time and we judge most other sandwiches by comparison to it. However the Legend Club is just that,a legend. Its the number one seller for a reason,its delicious and our new favorite. We love Le Grand's Market for so many reasons and we are willing to try every sandwich on the menu to make sure our decision is the right one.We suggest you come here too,It will be your go to sandwich place for sure. #fortheloveofsandwiches...

We've been making the deli circuit over the past few months and somehow this place flew under my radar. It wasnt until a conversation at work that I heard of Legrand's and The Legend Club. This place is part deli, part butcher and part corner market. We instantly ordered and the perused the meat counter counter and was given a friendly and thorough walk through about what they had and offered. No incentive to buy but they sure made it hard to say no. Everything was prime and many of their options were grass fed beef from local farms.

We got our sandwiches and weaves through the market staples, including a nice beer and soda selection, through the cash register then to our seats.

As per tradition, me and the fiance tried each other's, and I instantly knew I had made the right decision with the Legends Club. Everything was melted and gooey and made the sandwich so cohesive that every bite felt like a little slice of heaven. I wish I could remember everything on it, but my stomach was quicker than my mind and my curiosity quickly gave way to bliss.

The friendly staff, great selection, and their ties to the community (even the competition) makes this an excellent lunch stop. I am so glad we were too lazy to make anything...
