My family has always stayed at Marriott hotels and never had a bad experience. When I was traveling to a wedding in St. Louis and the bride and groom reserved a room block in a Marriott hotel, I thought that trend would continue. Unfortunately, there were a few problems with our stay that made it not only unenjoyable but also not up to the standard of the Marriott hotels that I have stayed with when traveling with my family. Checking in, they seemed to not have a room for us. We booked almost a month before the ceremony but when we checked in they were fumbling for 10 minutes with the manager to put us in a room. I believe they put us in a room they knew was bad since they were full that night or something. This is why:

  1. The air conditioner in our room was barley functional. My wife and I like to sleep cold, when we entered the room, it was 80 degrees. After turning the unit on and going to the wedding and reception (6 hours), we came back to a room that was only a few degrees colder. Way too hot to be comfortable to sleep in. Even by morning, we were still sweating.
  2. The air conditioner made an extremely loud popping sound every 40 minutes or so which kept my wife and I up most of the night. We did not get good sleep and decided to leave early in the morning.
  3. There were no soaps in the bathroom
  4. The TV was left on so when we checked in and went to the room, we thought there was someone in there already. Number 3 and 4 make me think the room wasn’t cleaned properly. Number 1 and 2 make me think they put us in a bad room because they were full. I will say, the staff was nice in the morning, but we just wanted to go home after such a poor night’s sleep. On my next vacation/trip I feel like I may have to think twice about the...

The location and room were the worst experience I have ever had.. We came down for an adult weekend and was expecting nothing but relaxation. Too uber during busy time it’ll be expensive because you’re not right at down town about a mile /mile 1/2 or so away from everything but won’t be told parking is $18 a night at this hotel and will be charged nightly and the day you will on the card on file. And it’s quiet so would be kid friendly but maybe not since it doesn’t have a pool! Our bathroom shower was filling up with water and the drain had so much hair clogging it that is why our walk in shower was filling up, it was kinda gross honestly. The room seemed cleaned other than that. The house keepers should lift up the grey pan and check the drain because they’re filled with hair apparently 🤢 Now to get to why I will absolutely not return to this hotel… I did not have any other bad encounters but with Mary, the front desk, over the phone when I had to make a call on Thursday night to make a change due to confusion that we noticed accrued and during check in, she is very rude and unprofessional and make our encounter of being in STL and our relaxing vacation very unpleasant. She will be the reason I will not return to the hotel. She was not welcoming. Did not tell us— we didn’t have breakfast (you pay for breakfast), pool (which apparently they don’t have by what I just read from the other comments when the pictures show they have online), fitness hours/location, etc. we knew absolutely nothing. We didn’t even know where the elevator was. Where are the managers when dealing with unpleasant staff when the guest are trying to be civil and get the situation dealt...

I am sorry for giving a poor review but the guidelines regarding cleaning are poor here! I had to ask twice for cleaning and when done so promised that it would happen. Walking into my room seeing the bed not made, trash not taken out or bathroom cleaned after working all day I was not pleased.

I stayed 13 full days here in this hotel. One full cleaning and the other meager services was what I received.

Never during check-in did anyone indicate the policy they were following taking my money without any problem. I usually dont complain about things but during a global pandemic one would think this is something they would be attentive to given public confidence?

Yet it makes me wonder now for new guests do they change the linen daily? And you wonder why i St.Louis, Missouri their cases are running now rampant?

I understand with Covid-19 that the hotel has taken an different approach towards cleaning which if you are in a longterm stay in the hotel you get your room cleaned every 7 days per the decision of general management. I would ask that you please try to increase your cleaning to at least every 4 days. If the decision is that you dont wash your linen every 4 days at home I will say that in the Summer in our home we do because of sweating.

Otherwise, the hotel is "Ok" other than these types of things which the hotel can make some modern upgrades. I dont fault the staff for doing their job.

The manager noted they would clean the room. They just took the trash and gave me a set of towels. I guess I should be happy? I am glad I purchases Lysol and wipes for...

I had leftover food on my floor when I checked in, I called housekeeping they never responded the food was there every single day I stayed there. The walls are paper thin I was awoken by a normal conversation at 5:15 in the morning by an adjacent room. Two days there were no towels in the fitness center. I waited at the bistro bar for almost 10 minutes before somebody discovered that I had been sitting there. She seemed more in tune with other things and taking care of the customer The absolute worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at As a local guide with over 32,000 views of my reviews and almost 2 million views of my photos, my goal is that produce reviews that you like, while being factual. If my review was helpful or you enjoyed reading it feel free to check ✔️ if you have constructive suggestions on how I could improve my reviews please feel free to leave them. Thanks for reading!

Stayed for business midweek. Great front desk staff and check in online and in person was easy. The lobby cafe/bar is open for breakfast and dinner and may be charged to room or paid upfront. I had a burger and fries for dinner and it was satisfactory. The room was clean with natural light and included a small balcony (my view faced the parking lot). Water pressure and temperature were great and the room was comfortable. The comforter bedding underneath the top sheet was mildly stained so I pulled it off to sleep. Rooms are a great price for the area right downtown there are restaurants within walking distance as well as two stadiums. You can see the arch and Ferris wheel on the main street in front of the hotel. During the day before travel I was able to check my luggage for pick up later. Had a great easy stay for a business trip!
