My family has always stayed at Marriott hotels and never had a bad experience. When I was traveling to a wedding in St. Louis and the bride and groom reserved a room block in a Marriott hotel, I thought that trend would continue. Unfortunately, there were a few problems with our stay that made it not only unenjoyable but also not up to the standard of the Marriott hotels that I have stayed with when traveling with my family. Checking in, they seemed to not have a room for us. We booked almost a month before the ceremony but when we checked in they were fumbling for 10 minutes with the manager to put us in a room. I believe they put us in a room they knew was bad since they were full that night or something. This is why:
The location and room were the worst experience I have ever had.. We came down for an adult weekend and was expecting nothing but relaxation. Too uber during busy time it’ll be expensive because you’re not right at down town about a mile /mile 1/2 or so away from everything but won’t be told parking is $18 a night at this hotel and will be charged nightly and the day you will on the card on file. And it’s quiet so would be kid friendly but maybe not since it doesn’t have a pool! Our bathroom shower was filling up with water and the drain had so much hair clogging it that is why our walk in shower was filling up, it was kinda gross honestly. The room seemed cleaned other than that. The house keepers should lift up the grey pan and check the drain because they’re filled with hair apparently 🤢 Now to get to why I will absolutely not return to this hotel… I did not have any other bad encounters but with Mary, the front desk, over the phone when I had to make a call on Thursday night to make a change due to confusion that we noticed accrued and during check in, she is very rude and unprofessional and make our encounter of being in STL and our relaxing vacation very unpleasant. She will be the reason I will not return to the hotel. She was not welcoming. Did not tell us— we didn’t have breakfast (you pay for breakfast), pool (which apparently they don’t have by what I just read from the other comments when the pictures show they have online), fitness hours/location, etc. we knew absolutely nothing. We didn’t even know where the elevator was. Where are the managers when dealing with unpleasant staff when the guest are trying to be civil and get the situation dealt...
Read moreI am sorry for giving a poor review but the guidelines regarding cleaning are poor here! I had to ask twice for cleaning and when done so promised that it would happen. Walking into my room seeing the bed not made, trash not taken out or bathroom cleaned after working all day I was not pleased.
I stayed 13 full days here in this hotel. One full cleaning and the other meager services was what I received.
Never during check-in did anyone indicate the policy they were following taking my money without any problem. I usually dont complain about things but during a global pandemic one would think this is something they would be attentive to given public confidence?
Yet it makes me wonder now for new guests do they change the linen daily? And you wonder why i St.Louis, Missouri their cases are running now rampant?
I understand with Covid-19 that the hotel has taken an different approach towards cleaning which if you are in a longterm stay in the hotel you get your room cleaned every 7 days per the decision of general management. I would ask that you please try to increase your cleaning to at least every 4 days. If the decision is that you dont wash your linen every 4 days at home I will say that in the Summer in our home we do because of sweating.
Otherwise, the hotel is "Ok" other than these types of things which the hotel can make some modern upgrades. I dont fault the staff for doing their job.
The manager noted they would clean the room. They just took the trash and gave me a set of towels. I guess I should be happy? I am glad I purchases Lysol and wipes for...
