I’m a very satisfied customer that has been attending The Chase & the Preston for many many years because of a great employee name Ms Brenda who has exceptional Customer Service skills as well as her beautiful personality & awesome passion that she shares with her customers is simply amazing I met this lady a few years ago when my mom passed, as I was having brunch alone, she came to my table and sat with me and we chat until my brunch arrived and I left with my heart smiling filled with tiny tears of comfort from Ms Brenda I say to the company Manager/General Manager, its employees like Ms Brenda that bring back customers on a regular to your business, her kindness and loyalty to her customers is a plus, whenever I call and ask her to book me at one of the restaurants, she always fits me in, even during the busy holidays She’s also the reason I’ve had multiple holiday gatherings with friends and family at The Chase/Preston because she has been a huge influence in my life and she always makes my heart smile whenever I see her she hugs me so tightly Every year I look forward to coming to have a tasty breakfast and a special moment of peace with my mom on Mother’s Day Thank you so so much Ms Brenda for always making a difference in the restaurant industry, I’ve never met anyone as genuine and passionate like you You’re simply amazing and I’ll continue to bring you beautiful flowers to show my appreciation for you beautiful Queen...

Visited with a friend for a quick supper before we attended an event at the Chase. We shared the lamb flatbread and the roasted brussel sprouts. Both had wonderful flavor. My friend and I are foodies and we were really impressed with the brussel sprouts which included small whole carrots and pearl onions. The sprouts and carrots were halved before cooking and were cooked to perfection. We laughed about how such a simple dish could be so delicious. Service was good. We enjoyed a specialty cocktail of which there were several to choose in addition to the expected beer and wine selections. We went back after the event for dessert and cappuccino and sat outside where a fire was burning on the patio (which did get a little smokey a couple of times). There was live music inside. We shared the chocolate caramel cheesecake with pretzel crust which did not disappoint. They were even nice enough to make my cappuccino decaf. The portions here are not the large size that has become the American standard so if you are a big eater or really hungry, take that into consideration. This is a lovely historic hotel in what is known as the classy Central West End neighborhood close to iconic Forest Park. My only complaints are that nearly all seating inside is tall tables with stools. We were seated near a window with a view, but we were cold because an air conditioning vent was right above us. Outdoor seating is standard height...

The outdoor patio is lovely to dine. It was especially wonderful today with the wind gently swaying the trees back & forth.

Sure, service is slow, but have you people read about the service industry right now? Hello? Do you consider that your complaints are the very reason servers are refusing to return to work?

Anyway, I am giving three stars for two reasons - to which I hope catches management's attention.

First, the medium Burger came out DONE. Really uncool for a Missouri hotel of your caliber. We do not believe in wasting animal product so it was consumed, thus we did not verbal a complaint. But when in doubt, undercook beef - you can fix undercooked.

Second, Chase Club should refrain from describing halved Roma tomatoes as chutney in their future menu printing. Had the delicious Shrimp & Grits description just read tomatoes I would have made a query to better understand the prep. But it explicitly read tomato chutney and chutney is not whole food. I was disgusted. I hate raw tomatoes. Yucky!

This said, the server brought me out a shredded white cheese of his liking and turned my frown upside down! I asked for white cheddar or gruyere or whatever, he brought a smoked gouda and it was perfect!

Presentation for both items was on point.
