Unfortunately, the food industry has declined to such an extent that it seems some restaurant managers and servers have become indifferent to maintaining proper kitchen hygiene. On June 21st, I ordered spaghetti with meatballs from REMOS Restaurant in Stamford. However, when I returned home and took my first bite, I was met with a truly unpleasant surprise: a long strand of hair had found its way into my mouth. It was utterly revolting.
Frustrated, I called the restaurant to speak with the manager about the issue. To my dismay, the person who answered the phone informed me that the manager was unavailable. I took a deep breath and explained the situation to her, describing the incident in detail. Incredibly, instead of offering an apology, she asked me to specify the color of the hair. Can you believe that? I felt dismissed and belittled, as if my complaint was not legitimate. I pride myself on being honest and would never fabricate such a story.
It was infuriating to think about the time I wasted picking up my order, paying for an unsatisfactory meal, and ultimately not enjoying what should have been a pleasant dinner. As a result of this experience, I can confidently say that REMOS will never see my business again. Their lack of attention to cleanliness and customer service is beyond unacceptable, and I can hardly comprehend how they continue to operate in...
Read moreAs I am writing this review, I am dreaming of having, my favorite Margherita Pizza of all times. Remo's became a touristic point for all friends and family that come to visit. Everybody LOVES IT. How can they make their food consistently so delicious? The owners are Italian, super nice and friendly the staff are so polite and prompt. I've been to Italy and I tried multiple pizzas from multiple locations, but surprisingly my favorite pizza is located in Stamford, CT. What are the odds? The ingredients are always super fresh, and every single thing tastes awesome. My suggestions: try the bread with a little olive oil and cheese. Try Remo's salad with baked calamari, trust me you won't regret. If you like pizza, I'd suggest Margherita or maybe veggie pie on a New York style pie with eggplant, artichokes, and mushroom (ok, let's pretend this is a veggie). If you are feeling like pasta I'd suggest the shrimp parmegiana. Anyway, there's not a single thing on the menu that I don't like. This is a place for everybody, couples, family gatherings, friends. The atmosphere is great, Italian music on the background. Plus, it's super clean and organized.
Thank you Remo's for bringing happiness through tasty food. Keep up with...
Read moreFantastic! We went here for dinner with a big crowd on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy, but the staff seated us immediately. Our server patiently answered our questions and made good suggestions. I’d never had grilled calamari, so I tried it and it did not disappoint! Served on a bed of greens with balsamic dressing, it had a wonderful smokiness and was satisfyingly chewy without being rubbery. The mozzarella fritta starter got thumbs-up all around, too. My main of eggplant parmesan came with a side of pasta in pesto sauce (!) that was delicious, creamy, and hot. A fellow diner’s main of shrimp scampi came with several, surprisingly large shrimp. Another fellow diner’s veal parmesan was gone before I could get a photo. We ate outside and when it began to drizzle rain, our server extended the awning so we were still able to enjoy our meal. My one criticism is that the shrimp scampi came out much later than our other mains. That said, this is a welcoming, authentic place and I look forward to enjoying it again! Highly...
