Opening weekend for any business takes time to smooth out the kinks. I enjoyed visiting Brothers Bar & Grill at Penn State in State College, PA. It's a good competition that is much needed on South Allen Street, especially for the business across the street from them.
The bar and grill can hold more than 640 people, and there is an upstairs indoor terrace with pool tables. The ceiling is high, so it's a great open space that eliminates claustrophobia. There is lots of ample group seating, so bring your family early. As for your friends, you have a unique aspect as Brothers Bar provides UFC programming at the business, which brings in a different target audience for their special events.
I WAS AT THE THURSDAY OPENING NIGHT (solo): I ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with sweet potato tots, a Brothers classic chicken sandwich with kettle chips, diet coke, and an adult beverage. I loved the tots. However, the chips were ok. Luis from the Denver store was a personable server, and I hope the restaurant can hire friendly people like him because it is what the town needs from a sports bar in State College, PA - friendly people. Additionally, Brothers Bar and Grill has a fantastic adult beverage special, and I could not believe it when I saw my bill. Thursday is a must-go-to-night if you're 21 years and above. Finally, I got a chance to speak with Sam, the GM, which was a crazy opening night, but it looks like he will lead the restaurant culture to be friendly and hospitable for all types of people. After all, I'm not a college student anymore.
SATURDAY DINNER (group): The third time I attended the Happy Valley restaurant, I attended with three friends. I ordered the Cod Almighty sandwich, and the group had a Chop Salad, The Over Achiever, and many starters: Wisconsin World Famous cheese Curds and Boneless Wings. I loved the soft pretzel sticks. We ordered three of them. I liked the cheesy queso for dipping. The horseradish-mustard sauce is not my thing, but it is good. Sydney was our server and did a great job. She said hello when I ordered food there on Wednesday night. In conclusion, my friend from Pittsburgh bought dinner, and then we got more adult beverages at the massive bar. They may still need to hire more bartenders because the drink specials are great, and We, Penn Staters, like to have a good time and want our beverage FAST!
WEDNESDAY DINNER (solo): Bernie and Logan were great in welcoming me back. They remembered me, which was nice. I loved the Cod Almighty sandwich and ordered it again with a Coke and an adult beverage. Stephen, Lily, and Brady were personable, and I enjoyed watching the Penn State vs. Illinois basketball game there. I ordered their Deep Fried Oreo Cookies. Next time, I will order them to go and add some whipped cream at home. It's their only dessert, but it was excellent.
In conclusion, I'm happy that Penn State has another sports bar downtown for all people to attend. The restaurant has good food and adult beverages for of-age students and will have them returning for more. Many students could not believe the prices during the restaurant's happy hour. People will always spend their money there if they continue to provide a personable, hospitable community. I definitely will continue to spend my money there. I suggest you go there with your family early and get ready to have a good time with your friends for the evening. There is a DJ set-up and dance floor area. The students pour in for the adult beverage...
Read moreIf I could give Joey Bruni 69 stars, I would.
Walking into Brothers Bar and Grill, I expected a casual drink and maybe a greasy appetizer. What I didn’t expect was to be spiritually, emotionally, and hormonally rocked by a blonde-haired, blue-eyed bartender named Joey Bruni.
Let me paint the picture: He’s tall—like “reach the top shelf of your dreams” tall. His hair? The kind of golden that makes you question if he was kissed by the sun or just really good at conditioner. And those baby blue eyes? I made eye contact for 0.7 seconds and ovulated.
Now, being served by Joey is a full-body experience. The way he slides a drink across the bar? Sensual. The way he smiles when you say "Can I close out?"? Orgasmic. Honestly, being served by Joey Bruni is the closest thing I’ve had to losing my virginity since… well, losing my virginity. Only this time, there was eye contact, no crying, and he actually knew where everything was.
He poured me a vodka soda, and somehow, it tasted like validation and foreplay. I asked for ranch with my fries, and he winked like I’d just told him my deepest kink. At one point, I swear he flipped a cocktail shaker and I blacked out for a full three seconds.
If you're going to Brothers Bar and Grill and NOT requesting Joey by name, you’re doing life wrong. Skip Tinder. Forget therapy. Just let Joey pour you one stiff drink and ruin bartenders for you forever.
P.S: I tipped 100% because I’m not cheap and also because I’m manifesting a future where he calls me...
Read moreLet me be crystal clear: Joey Bruni isn’t just a bartender — he is a force of nature. Walking into Brother’s Bar and Grill and seeing him behind the bar is like spotting the sun breaking through the clouds — everything instantly feels brighter, warmer, and more alive.
The way he moves? Poetry. Every pour, shake, and garnish is pure artistry, but it’s more than skill — it’s the soul he puts into every drink. He doesn’t just hand you a cocktail; he hands you a moment, a memory, something you’ll be thinking about long after the glass is empty.
Joey has this magnetic charm that pulls you in. He greets you like an old friend, remembers your drink like it’s his personal mission, and somehow knows exactly how to lift your mood no matter what kind of day you’ve had. His smile could light up the entire block, and the way he commands the bar — with effortless confidence and genuine kindness — is something you have to witness to believe.
I’ve been to countless bars, but Joey is the reason Brother’s isn’t just another spot — it’s the spot. His energy fills the room, his drinks are perfection, and his presence turns an ordinary night into a story you’ll tell for years.
If you haven’t experienced a night with Joey Bruni behind the bar, drop what you’re doing, head to Brother’s, and prepare for the best decision you’ve made all year. Joey isn’t just serving drinks — he’s serving joy, connection, and unforgettable moments. Hell of a bulge too...
