One and done!!! I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. I should have listened to the recent reviews, because my experience was TRASH. We dined on Thursday, 12/5/24. Upon arrival the place was practically EMPTY! There was literally ONE tabled occupied in the hibachi section and maybe 3 tables on the sushi side. We were seated immediately. The lady then came and removed the rest of the plates, so we moved seats. She then came and told us to go back to our original seats, 1st 🚩. We moved back to our original seats, our order was taken and we received our drinks. She then came back and said the chef was on the way so we could sit where we wanted... we declined. By now we were done with our salads and chef should have been coming any moment, a little while later a family of 4 came and was seated with us. Ordinarily it would be no problem however since we had been sitting sooo long this was a problem. We now had to wait for this family to place their orders (which included sushi and appetizers) before the chef came out. A party that came in about 20 minutes after we did chef was already at their table. Meanwhile, we were waiting almost 1 hr at this point for food since we had to wait for the additional diners. This was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE due to the place being so empty. They should have been seated at another table. The food: While the prices are cheaper compared to other, hibachi the food here was HORRIBLE. The portion sizes were very small and the food was flat out nasty. The lobster tail was overcooked, whatever sauce they use that teriyaki is NASTY 🤮. The chicken was overcooked and the shrimp was also ruined with the nasty sauce. The steak was poor quality and lacked flavor. Probably the best thing was the shrimp sauce and the veggies. The rice was hard and lacked flavor. We took nibbles of our food and ultimately left it because it...
Read moreWe have eaten here a good bit. The first several times we had excellent food and service. Then we went and the lady behind the counter (handles take-out, answering phone, seating people) was extremely rude to us. We figured everyone has a bad day every now and then so we didn't say anything. The next time we went we ordered the steak and cheese egg roll, one of our favorite appetizers. We didn't get it until we were almost done with our dinner. Both orders tasted freezer burned. The sushi didn't come until after our dinner and we sent it back as it was way too late for an appetizer and we just wanted to pay and get out of there. We went again last night in a large party. We had to wait about 10 minutes just to talk to the hostess. She did seat us immediately once she was available to talk to. The food was excellent. The service was horrible. We had to beg for refills for our drinks. The atmosphere was marked as three stars because it was so hot in the room we were seated in. The thermostat showed that it was 83 degrees at one point. We mentioned it to staff and they did nothing to address it. A customer from the table next to us finally got up and adjusted the temperature himself. It did get down to 79 degrees before we left. I'm not sure that we will give them...
Read moreHost would not seat us until entire party arrived. This is a trend that I really dislike. I could appreciate it if the restaurant was full, but it was at considerably less than half capacity. We had 4 of 6 present, so it would not have effected table count had they seated us and offered drinks and appetizers. We didn't wait long for our stragglers and were seated immediately when they arrived.
Host was also displeased that only half wanted hibachi, while the other half wanted food from the kitchen. She was clearly unhappy with it for some reason.
Hibachi cook was great. He was fun and put on a nice show. Best part of the experience.
My food was pretty good and the rest of the party also seemed to enjoy their food. We were celebrating a birthday and were not rushed out.
Had the host been more accommodating, this would have been a great experience. As it was though, it was not. The food and excellent chef did not make up for the attitude of the host.
Lastly, they added the gratuity in on the bill. Some places do this for larger parties, but 6 rarely rises to that. It's too bad for the chef, who would have gotten a considerably larger tip had the management not...
