Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a very unpleasant hostess who seemed offended when I asked to be seated at a booth. After sitting down our waitress came over took our drink orders and came back with was, we had ordered cocktails as well which would come 20 minutes after ordering them. the waitress took our order and came back with our appetizers and soup the appetizer of chips and queso dip and my chicken tortilla soup were probably the only edible portion of the entire meal. After receiving our food the waitress asked the person I was having dinner with to cut into a steak to make sure it was cooked correctly her medium steak was cooked more than well done. the waitress said that she would take it back and come back with a new one after having her manager fix that when she returned to the table to let us know that the steak was being recooked I informed her that all of my food was cold I had ordered an appetizer sampler rather than a meal because I wasn't that hungry. She picked up the tray took it straight to the back and stated she would bring me a new one. About five minutes later a manager name Austin came back with the steak and asked my friend to cut into it she stayed at the steak was cooked fine and he walked away to return later with my remade appetizer. after about three bites my friend made the comment that her steak was both rare and well done it wasn't cooked medium after further investigation she noticed that the quality of meat was just poor and she wasn't even entirely sure that it was actually steak and kind of resembled pork. the manager Austin then came back with my remade appetizer which was just my original appetizer thrown in the microwave making it completely and out of all he was genuine and nice and told us to enjoy the rest of our meal however our meal wasn't consumable so we did not. Our waitress then came back to the table one time maybe two minutes after we had received our food I didn't see her again after that until I flagged her down and asked her to bring us our bill. This meant that I had to walk up to the bar myself and ask the bartender the only pleasant person in this restaurant to hand me some boxes so that I could box up my food. when our waitress brought us our bill she had stated that she had taken the steak and the appetizer that were originally made for Italy off and also further just counted the bill. what that actually meant was she had taken the original order off rering it in and discounted only my friends take expecting me to pay full price for food that had just been reheated in the microwave. At this point I was fed up so instead of arguing I just paid for my dinner as did my friend. I don't think I'll ever be returning to this Applebees the wait staff was less than attentive the food was terrible and although the management was nice they clearly do not know how to run a restaurant. I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience at this location, until today. James was our waiter and customer service was not there nor was customer experience. To start off, he didn't write down anything we ordered. Not a big deal, as long as you get the order correct. We ordered drinks as soon as we got there and that took 15 minutes to make. Okay fine, we tasted them, no liquor was in them. None the less it's fine, about 30 mins in he brings out pretzels and says here are your pretzels. We never ordered pretzels we had loaded Waffle fries....he said alright my bad. Goes and changes in system. Waiting and waiting, my drink was out and never asked to refill it or bring a water. I stop him in one of his rounds asking for another margarita. Finally our Waffle fries come out after we had been there for 45 minutes. He says our food is coming out shortly. I said great, did you put in the margarita? He said, "Yeah but our bartender is slammed" I look over...she's standing there. This would have been the time to offer me water as I've been sitting without a drink. Brings out our food finally. My husbands neighborhood burger which is supposed to be two patties, comes out burnt and one patty cut in half. Fries were old. My dish was good. However, I still don't have a drink. He keeps passing us and not saying a thing. The bartender is standing around talking to people then goes into the kitchen. Clearly not doing a thing. There's maybe 10 people in the restaurant. Two people sitting at the bar with their drinks already. No one was slammed. By the time he came around asking how the food was, we were finished. I asked for boxes and the check. We were not checked on, I was without a drink for the entire meal, our appetizers were screwed up and my husband's meal was not good. It's beyond...

Granted, nobody comes to Applebees expecting much. However, today is my bday and me and my sister went to this location for a quick dinner. Everything was fine until the first menu item was brought out. I ordered the chicken wanton tacos. I didn’t even take one bite and had to push it aside. Looked nothing like the picture. Soggy. Drowning in huge chunks of coleslaw. Swimming in access runnoff from the sauce. Took the serve 20 mins to even come back with our other food and noticed the tacos sitting at the end of the table. Asked us what’s wrong. Like did you not see what you brought out to the table even? 😳 no big deal things happpen it’s Applebees. Then we get our food. I ordered a chicken Cesar salad with crispy chicken instead of grilled. I swear it was one chicken tender cut up and thrown on the salad. 3 dollars for a flat pepsi. And waited 15 mins to ask for some dressing as the salad had maybe one tsp on it. Again… not even that big of a deal. When we get the bill. Two separate ones for me and my sister whom was with me. Looking at her bill they put the table next to us their 8 dollar drink on her bill and my Pepsi… waited about another 20 mins before she brought back the correct bills for us to pay and leave.
