EDIT TO UPDATE 5/21/24 After quite awhile, we decided to give Nick's another try. BAD MOVE ALL THE WAY AROUND. The order taker this time, was better than usual. Other than when I ordered a 2ltr of DIET COKE and he sent DIET PEPSÌ (yuck!) I guess he just wanted to make a little extra on the order, instead of telling me they serve Pepsi products.
ABOUT THE DELIVERY Get some English speaking and English understanding delivery drivers! I contacted the driver about GPS being wrong. I gave him specifics to get to my doorbell, AND STILL screwed up! Then didn't even bother to walk up the 10 steps to my door. Which meant NO TIP for laziness!
THE FOOD I've been ordering from the 79th St store for over 5yrs and it really has just slipped to far down the chain for me to ever order from them again! The brisket was SO OVER COOKED and fatty, I might as well have been eating stringy pot roast dipped in bbq sauce! The fries were cold and had been cooked in dirty oil. The corn was so over cooked they actually put 2 cobs in the plate to try to give one good cob. The onion rings were so greasy I had to wrap them in a paper towel to absorb the grease that was literally squeezable out of the onion ring! Nick's, if there was a way to give you ZERO STARS for the dinners you over price, you can be guaranteed that's what you would get from me! NO MORE ORDERS FROM THIS FAMILY!
It all depends in what day you order and who is working. I've found ordering from them on the weekend is a waste of time. They screw up the orders worse on the weekends. We have legitimate coupons that you guys have on the phone for $2.00 or $3.00 off depending what you get and received a big hassle again from an old woman who works there ! She is very Ignorant , and treats customers very disrespectful . We where being waited on by a young lady and SHE had to come over stick her nose in , grab our phone { the older lady } , and say " coupons are only good on next visit ! She doesn't even know how they work ! I have brought coupons in too { paper } and she acts the same way. The coupons where being used on FULL priced items too ! I have been coming to your establishment for 25 years and have never received such treatment as i have from this woman the last 5 times in there ! We are thinking about going to another establishment after supporting your restaurant for 25 years...I usually do not complain , but my wife and I felt like criminals , and really feel this woman should be trained properly or told about...
Read moreWe are neighbors with this restaurant and used to come often, but after the disrespect received from my husbands last visit, I would urge no one to support such a rude establishment. My husband dropped his phone in their parking lot and it broke. He had our son so he was trying to call me to let me know, so he asked the manager If it would be ok to use the phone. Not only did he refuse to let him use the phone (which is fine, what hurt would it cause to just ask right?) but the manager ridiculed him in front of employees and patrons for even asking. It breaks my heart that my husband and son would have to go through something like that, and over a simple request for a favor.
