I gave this place 3 stars only because the food was good. However the wait time on the food was long enough for one table ahead of me and one after me to both receive their food and leave before getting our food. She gave us two lunch menus and one regular menu. When I asked for a regular menu she didn't seem to understand. She gave attitude! I ordered a frozen margaritas. It was over ice! She got a attitude because I didn't want it over ice. After placing our orders she said " Give me my menus" again with the attitude. I had a fried burrito dinner which she had a hard time taking my order because I wanted cheese inside my burrito not on top. I kept having to explain it to her. My son had beef nachos and 2 beef tacos too go. I just picked him up from the airport so we were so wrapped up in conversation that it almost threw me off how long we were waiting. Our server Linda was rude af. Everytime she came to our table she always had some smart snive comments. She saw us looking at her as she wiped down tables and talked to an elderly guy who looked like a regular that sits in the restaurant to pass the time after eating or drinking. I was wondering if she was going to ask us if we needed our checks. So finally got her attention to tell her that we wanted our check she started collecting our plates instead of asking if we wanted containers which we did. I overheard th elderly guy ask if she was alright and she said no. I also overheard another server talking to the same elderly customer about her and that server said she wasn't nice. It definitely showed in her service. I don't think I'll ever go back. I usually go to the Pepe's on 159th in Tintly Park. The service and food times have never been a problem. Linda needs to fix her attitude if she wants better tips. She's lucky she got the tip she got today because I didn't want to give...
Read moreI know their restaurants are franchised and this one is not good! Their take-out is horrible the food is just thrown together like slop...no presentation whatsoever...rice was dry, beans was hard around the edges which leads me to believe the take out containers are pre-made with rice and beans and just sitting...this was my third try with them and they charge for everything! .40 for a slice of onion. .95 for a spoonful of Guac...I spent 25.00 in there 09/03/20 and asked for a extra bag of peppers and he said I would have to pay .40 the way I looked at him he ask me did I want to speak to the manager...no need I won't be back I'll just keep going to Pepe's on 131st and Cicero where the presentation and customer service is on point!!
5/7/24 After I said I wouldn't go back I decided to give them another try...I ordered two dinners and spent 35.00 the Sopes were horrid and the Steak was like chewing shoe leather nothing was seasoned...As I checked my bag I only had one bag of peppers since I had two orders I asked for another...The cashier got made and said "I'll give you one this time but next time it will be Sixty-five cents" I just spent 35.00 in your establishment what's a bag of peppers( which I should've gotten anyway for two orders) The cashier's attitude was so nasty!! Pepe's food is not cheap and doesn't taste like Pepe's of old...It's hit or miss and at this one it's more misses than hits...THIS TIME I'M DONE!! You need a new cashier with a...
Read moreWent here today with my mom for dinner. The only good thing was the service. Fast and attentive and the manager was very quick at helping us. The beer my mom got was warm but the glass was cold so that's good. We asked for queso and they said they didn't have it. So we ordered the chili con queso. It said: "our special sauce with melted cheese." When this came out it was chunky semi melted cheese in the center of a big bowl of enchilada sauce. It was inedible. Then the waitress said they had nacho cheese so we tried that. It's the nacho cheese that comes in the big cans at grocery stores. It was slightly cold. My mom ordered the appetizer sampler and it has taquitos, mini tacos, quesidillas, and nachos. The taquitos and mini tacos were the boxed kind you can get at the grocery store. The quesidalla was decent. The nachos were chips with the canned nacha sauce. I got steak nachos .It was chips with the nacho cheese and steak and beans . The beans and steak tasted okay but that was it .we couldn't eat any of our food at all .Thankfully the manager comped our meal .again the wait staff was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately this was the worst food...
