Las Picosas Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Stickney Township

I was there today. I ordered a steak burrito suizo, chicken burrito and two chicken tacos to go. The burrito suizo was for me and the chicken burrito and tacos was for someone else. I took my friend their food at ANOTHER home When I arrived home I was looking forward to eating my “steak burrito suizo” (I have had them before from here and really enjoyed them).

When I cut into my “steak burrito suizo”......it was chicken NOT the steak that I ordered. (I don’t eat chicken). I contacted the establishment and was told “the cook said he made a chicken and steak burrito but couldn’t remember which one was a suizo”. I was telling her that he made the wrong one a suizo.

She wasn’t able to offer a resolution and said she would call the manager and call me back.

Daisy (the person I spoke to) didn’t call me back so I called back. I was told that Daisy had left for the day. The lady I spoke to stated “the cook said he made a steak burrito suizo and a chicken burrito”. Something totally different from what Daisy said the cook said. The lady I was speaking to then told me to call back in twenty minutes to talk to the manager. She refused to provide her name.

I received a call from “the cook” about ten minutes later. He stated that he made the order correct. I informed him that it wasn’t and that I wouldn’t be calling if the order was correct. He stated that he would make me a steak burrito suizo if he see that I was given a chicken burrito suizo. Another stipulation was that I had to bring it back today and TODAY ONLY. Told him that my schedule does not permit me to go back to the establishment today but would be able to do it later in the week. He stated that if I couldn’t bring it back TODAY there would be NO refund or exchange and was adamant about that.

This is not about the money for the burrito. Have you ever had your tastebuds set for something and you get home and you don’t have what you ordered. On top of that being accused of lying and told that my only resolution was to come back TODAY to resolve it.

Poor...

Tried ordering a steak burrito dinner and the lady on the phone said "we don't have steak burrito dinners" I was like huh. Lol then she asked me if I wanted to add a side of beans and rice then I thought to myself umm that's the same thing as a dinner smh anyway got there place looked lively. Cashier wasn't paying attention to customers or me she was on her phone. While I was waiting I seen a menu item right above the cashier that said "CHICKEN BURRITO DINNER." Lady claimed they didn't have burrito dinners but there it was above her head. Paid $11 for a small side of beans and rice and the smallest steak burrito that I have ever seen in my life. Burrito was literally the size of a frozen burrito you see in grocery stores, was very disappointed. No napkins, no forks, no, salsa like wth. How am suppose to eat the rice and beans with my fingers like a caveman? Was going to rate with 1 star but I will give them credit the burrito altho smallest I've ever seen was very good also the beans and rice were very fresh and delicious that's the only reason I gave them 3 stars. They really need to get it together and make a normal size...

Hi all. The food is good and comforting like a home cooked meal. Araceli was nice and attentive. Meal arrived nice n hot, exactly as asked for.😁 The place is nice, clean and comfortable. Just off Cicero Ave. Would highly recommend.

Update: Several years later and still go there and Araceli is still there !. VERY professional, sincere and sweet!!!. The food is as good as ever. 😁 Clean and neat. One of the best and better places in this neighborhood. Prices are reasonable. Good place to bring the family. 😁 Take out is nice and hot! and properly packaged. 😁 What more can I say!!! HIGHLY recommend in this area of south Cicero Ave.

Update: Picosas has become one of my fav local places. Araceli and Daisy are there still. Very sweet, nice friendly and smiling. Make you feel welcome. and very professional. They 😁 help make the ambiance.The food is good. Well prepared and delicious. This is Mexican food at its best! Coffee is good! Picosas has upgraded their decor and it looks inviting to eat there. Still very clean and well kept. Family friendly. Kid friendly. What more can I say!!! HIGHLY recommend in this area of...
