I really wanted to love this place, but the first experience was just "ok".
The cheese "stix" are supposed to be cut in to bite size pieces, per the website. It wasn't. Decent flavor. Ok amount of cheese. Came with marinara and butter. I assume the butter is supposed to be the advertised garlic butter, but there was no garlic flavor. I'd order it again.
The calzone, the Combat Zone, was good and had quite a bit of filling. Could use a little more cheese to hold the filling together. The dought/crust is good, but no flavor to speak of. I thought there'd be some garlic butter and seasonings on the crust, but it was naked. I asked to add black olives but they didn't have any (website says they do). The employee told my husband they didn't have a few things available and were still "setting up". I'd order this again.
Husband got the dunks (boneless chicken chunks). They were unsauced, but had a great seasoning. He asked for sweet chili sauce on the side, but it wasn't placed with the order. He also got an order of cheese tots. The cheese is a sauce, not shredded, but it tasted good. The tots on their own were really good. He said he'd order them both again, but doesn't see this place being one of our "usuals".
I asked for a side of garlic butter and ranch. The ranch was really good. (Not as good as Mazzio's, but whose is? 😉) The sides were 75 cents a piece. Had I known the bread sticks came with a side of butter and marinara, I wouldn't have ordered the extra garlic butter, which again, had no garlic flavor.
I wanted to try the traditional wings, but they were not available to order from this location.
I feel for the amount of food we ordered, and the size of the servings, the cost wasn't too expensive.
We'll try it again in a few weeks and see if it improves. If it's as good as it was tonight, it'll be an option for those late nights when we want something other than Whataburger or Taco Bell. I can see us going here once a...
Read moreI work at the hospital which is right down the road and I have ordered multiple times since they have opened. Because of the hours I work the only option I have is delivery. I placed my order and the "estimated delivery" time was 45 minutes from the time I placed the order. Which was fine because I knew it was a busy time for orders since it was right around "dinner/supper" time for most. When I hadn't received my order within 1 hour from the time I placed my order, I called the restaurant and was hung up on 3 times before I finally got someone to actually speak to me. I was told that the delivery person was leaving right then to deliver my food. (the hospital is only about 4-5 blocks from the restaurant). After 10 minutes I still hadn't received my food so I called back and asked to speak to the manager, the gentleman who answered stated that he as the manager (which I seriously doubt he was the manager) and the deliver guy was out delivering my food and he had put a coupon in with my food for 1/2 off for any inconvenience I had. I asked if my food was still going to be hot and was told "it should be just fine". I was told that if they refunded me then I wouldn't get my order. When I finally did get my order the food was barely lukewarm and the garlic knots weren't even edible. I have worked in customer service for over 35 years and the way I was treated tonight was very unprofessional and unacceptable. If they were running so far behind a quick phone call would have gone a long ways to satisfy a customer. I will think twice before...
