I don’t believe that I have ever had a bad meal at any restaurant that had the name “Granny” in it. Granny’s Kitchen did not disappoint. Located on the SE corner 7th and Main St. in downtown Stillwater, in a nicely remodeled brick building. Inside, the restaurant is smartly decorated in a modern décor mixed with a connection to the past. Between the tee shirts that are for sale, historical pictures and a few artifacts representing rural farm life hang on the walls. In a few areas of the walls, the original brick work is exposed, but masked with a coat of paint. The building’s true age shows through the makeup. The chaotic conglomeration of bricks testify that masonry skills and craftsmanship were not required of the builder, when the original structure was erected. Building codes likely not in vogue either. A work of historical beauty. On street parking. And directly behind the restaurant, on the east side, is a parking lot. On a busy weekend parking could be a challenge. Somewhat of a tourist attraction. Souvenirs for the out of towners are prominently on display for purchase. A bar is available to help celebrate yesterday’s team victory or numb the pain of defeat. Patio seating is available. Breakfast was perfect. My usual. The picture describes the food. The friendly attentive wait staff keeps your coffee cup full. What else can I say it’s, “Granny’s” Kitchen.

Granny's Kitchen offers a delightful breakfast and brunch experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly beautiful and creates a nice ambiance for a morning meal. However, the service aligns with what you might anticipate in a college town – friendly and casual. I opted for the classic eggs Benedict, and while I was hoping for perfectly poached eggs, they erred on the side of hard-boiled. Nevertheless, the redeeming factor was the hollandaise sauce, which added a burst of flavor to the dish. Additionally, the well-seasoned potatoes on the side were a pleasant surprise. In summary, Granny's Kitchen is a visually appealing spot with friendly service. While my eggs Benedict fell short of expectations, the flavorful hollandaise sauce and well-seasoned potatoes made the visit enjoyable.

I wanted a great breakfast experience and that's what I truly received! They were out of the crepes I Ordered but was willing to make something comparable.I decided to go another route and ordered the Nasty Granny. With completion of this meal you get to spin the wheel for a prize! Before I finished my meal the manager told me I could spin the wheel even if I didn't finish it. My waitress was so amazing! We shared so many laughs and smiles that she wrote appreciation for the time on the receipt! I got a chance to spin the wheel and received 10% off my order. I opted for a key chain instead because I paid for my order before spinning the wheel. The mimosa had already gotten to me😁!Overall the food was great and the ambience even better!

update:: I spoke to the owner after his response and appreciated his direct response and aggressive action to resolve the problems we encountered. He graciously invited us back and explained the steps that were taken. I went back on my own one morning the following week didn’t tell anybody I was there I wanted to see if I would have a better or same experience. I had an amazing server who was very attentive and ensured I had everything I needed.

I then went back today Saturday 4/13th with my husband and daughter she wanted to go my husband had decided no matter what he did not want to go back but we talked him into it. We got seated and ended up getting the same waitress from Sunday we were both surprised an concerned we wanted a good experience for our daughter. So I did as the owner requested and asked for him. He came to us say down and talked to us and assured us even though we got the same server she has been in training again and we will have a very different experience. The place was packed full but we trusted him. She was much better and when our coffee was empty she or another server would fill us back up even the owner would come top us off.

The food came and was perfectly done my oatmeal was perfectly done. Sausage links amazing. My husband meal nasty granny was piled high and cooked to perfection. Our daughters hash brown was exactly how she wanted. We couldn’t have asked for more. The owner even surprised us and took care of the entire bill. He went way above again I stand by my original comment the owner goes above and beyond and very kind in taking care of his customers. He took the necessary steps to resolve the issues and as long as quality above quantity stays in place we will continue to go back. Thank you for caring enough to fix the issues.

This used to be the best place to go for breakfast and lunch. NOT ANYMORE!!!

2nd visit this time with the free coupon we went today Sunday morning in between the before church and after church rush. I’m hopeful this is going to be a great visit. The girl takes our drink order I ask for vanilla and hazelnut creamer only. She comes back with a cup of mixed creamer with 1 vanilla and 1 hazelnut. I ask again for the two flavors only. She disappears for about 15 minutes by this point we have been out of coffee and 5 people have walked by us giving others coffee. she comes back takes our order she ask me three times what I ordered bowl of oatmeal nothing hard. She turns to walk away and we ask if she can refill our cups she looked surprised we would ask. She disappeared again after getting our coffee. We again end up with empty mugs our server no where to be seen once more. We don’t get coffee till our food comes 15-20 minutes later. We even sat our cups at the edge of the table. We once more watch the tables along the wall get drinks and coffee refill right away. Our food comes out and my oatmeal looks old and dehydrated she sets our food down and starts to walk away again I look at my husband in disbelief he stops her to ask again for coffee. I start try to rehydrate my oatmeal and realizing I don’t have butter. I think butter is pretty standard for oatmeal but this waitress I guess did not. We try to find her and wait and wait. About five minutes later she walks past we ask for butter she repeated it like she was irritated because she said it’s going to be a bit because it’s upstairs. She came back later with the butter does not ask at anything everything is ok or if we need anything. We gave up on coffee refill at this point. But extra napkins or straws for our water would have been nice. She comes back with our check and she looks irritated we had the coupon she just grabbed it and left.

Overall summary:Granny’s used to be a amazing place to go. Till they remember quality over quantity it’s a mediocre restaurant at best if even that. They have forgotten quality control and good customer service. The one good thing is the owner is still a very nice man hence the 1 star...

Before I get to the review from my most recent visit, I am compelled by human decency to preface the following by saying that Granny's is usually a friendly and fun place with attentive staff, and a warm, homey atmosphere. 👍My family has eaten here maybe a half-dozen times. I would say 4/6 were satisfactory to highly enjoyable! 4 stars in most aspects. (But, we went for breakfast)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ But, 👎 I can give no more than 3 stars for a recent later-than-lunch arrival.👎👎 I arrived at 1:40 on a Monday. They closed at 2. But, nothing was said about them not seating. In fact, a couple of people were seated and served after me, and several lingered after closing. I was alone, so I ate, and left straight away, I was gone by 2:15.

I know my mediocre experience was partially due to employees trying to get closing duties completed. 👎I had to ask for cutlery after my food was hastily dropped off. 👎The fork was dirty, but I never got their attention to replace it. I made do with the spoon. 👎I had to say "excuse me!" for anything I needed. When they brought me things, it was just drop-n-run, because there was apparently much to do 👍 my drink was kept full Their harried busyness kept the numerous waitstaff from noticing me. 👎I was not offered condiments with my burger. Speaking of which, the patty was dry and unseasoned. 👎I was given a pickle spear, but no pickle slices for the burger. The 5-6 minutes I waited to ask for mayonnaise seemed too long to wait for pickles or ketchup (I did not request THAT initially because I was expecting a flavorful burger) 🤘The Brussels sprouts were delicious. I took half the meal home (as I often do) 👎But, the burger was inedible later.🚫🍔🚫 🤘The Brussels sprouts were even tastier after I reheated them. 🥰 All in all, THIS trip to Granny's was very bland and average, and I was disappointed. The total for my meal was just under $15. I tipped well, (I have my reasons) and left $20.00 lighter, but with a $3.00 experience. I still recommend Granny's, but go for breakfast, and never...

Being from North Texas and stumbling into Granny’s at the advice of the Local Harley Dealer employees, this busy little hidden gem was definitely a highlight of our Labor Day weekend.

To come into a place in a busy college town that has the energy in the atmosphere that says great time and great people.

Being First timers in this place your are treated like family by the entire staff, from the hostess to the Owner and Yes he is ever present in the establishment. We sat at the bar as we were seeking out a Bloody Mary, and we found a damn good place for an amazing Bloody Mary.

The Cinnamon Rolls are just like you would get from your Grandmothers Kitchen absolutely delicious. We ordered breakfast and neither dish disappointed the portions and quality were spot on for the money you get one helluva deal!

If your not sure about what to eat here plan to stay a few days and try a bunch of it, we did went back the next day again to enjoy the atmosphere and amazing food!

We were fortunate to have to Young Lady’s behind the bar who have both been at the location for a long time one of which has been there since the Location changed to Granny’s! She has been with the owner since he took over the location and changed the name, that speaks a ton for the ownership and the staff. The other young lady is fixing to celebrate 10 years with the Restaurant.

This is a top notch dining establishment and the staff is unmatched, the food is absolutely amazing it is obvious that there is a Love for what everyone in this building does! From the Owner to the dishwashers and bussers it is very apparent that a atmosphere had been created and instilled in all of the employees of being the best you can be all the time.

Many Kudos to them all and we look forward coming back again soon and seeing all of you!

Thank you for such and amazing experience and excellent treatment of your neighbors from south of...
