Lupita's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Stockbridge

I had been wanting to try an authentic mangonada. I found this place and decided to give it a try. When I walked in, there was a sour smell but it’s an ice cream place so maybe that’s where it came from. It took a couple minutes for someone to my order but no biggy. The woman tried to be kind. I don’t think they’re used to seeing highly melanated people in their establishment.

What I’m most disappointed about was the how the mangonada was made and the quality. The base was some type of sugary mango sorbet. It wasn’t good at all. I expected it to be made with fresh, blended mangoes 😞. Some of the mango pieces were so mushy I spit them out. Other pieces still has mango skin on them. I ended up picking through it for good mango pieces and pouring most of it out. Maybe I’ll try a something else from there but I’m honestly not pressed for it especially after that smell… the mangonada...

Great place to get Chamoyada! You can also ask for different versions of Chamoyada using other fruits such as pineapple as well. Portions are generous and their ice cream & fresh fruit cups are great as well. Keep in mind that all menu items are in Spanish & not all workers are fluent in English!
